First round talent...would mind the Giants trading their remaining picks to get this guy...he is nasty and plays with an attitude we need more toughness in our roster
probably shouldn't because they have more pressing needs, but I don't care, I've got a devil on my shoulder who keeps whispering, "Jonathan Williams, Razorback RB, he can do it all!"
All that matters is that this is one draft where Reese & Co. absolutely, positively, cannot go 0-3 on Day 3. They don't need to find starters (although that would be nice), but they do need to find serviceable role players who will be able to contribute when called upon.

agree. i think billings would be a GREAT addition to DL rotation. he is a quick son of gun for his size. proejcted as a top 2 round pick, shocked he is there. also like westermann. i think scholbert could get some PT at LBer. i also like judon.
Jonathan Williams reminds me of Ottis (OJ) Anderson who ended his career with the Giants. Same running form, just a shorter version. I like your find there.
Including some battle-tested O-Linemen from the SEC and guys with a ton of starting experience.
My top 10 available guys:
1) DT Andrew Billings of Baylor - what's the story? Underlying injury?
2) RB Devontae Booker of Utah - great power. Third and short back?
3) OT Jerald Hawkins of LSU - SEC. Nimble feet. Great length.
4) RB Jordan Howard of Indiana - BIG BOY. Durability concerns. 3rd down back?
5) LB Josh Perry of Ohio State - yes, another Buckeye
6) OG Christian Westerman of Arizona State
7) OT Willie Beavers of Western Michigan - good size and EXCELLENT feet
8) RB Kenneth Dixon of Louisiana Tech
9) LB Kentrell Brothers of Missouri - very productive in the SEC. Not that athletic but smart
10) TE Jerrell Adams of South Carolina - we need a TE and he's the best one available
Guys I'm keeping on an eye for the Giants later in the draft or or to be signed after the draft (I'm not including QB, FB, WR, OC, ST players or CB). By position:
11) DT Willie Henry of Michigan - athletic, strong 3T
12) DE Ronald Blair of Appalachian State - Sun Belt Conf. Player of the Year
13) DT Sheldon Day of Notre Dame - energizer bunny
14) DE Matt Judon of Grand Valley State - DOMINATED his conference
15) DT Matt Ioannidis of Temple - high effort guy with good size and tools
16) DT David Onyemata of Manitoba - never saw
17) DT Hassan Ridgeway of Texas - very talented but injury concerns?
18) OL John Theus of Georgia - SEC
19) OT Kyle Murphy of Stanford - highly recruited out of high school
20) OG Sebastian Tretola of Arkansas - SEC
21) OL Spencer Drango of Baylor - 4 year starter, leader and very smart
22) OG Joe Dahl of Washington State - very solid player
23) OT Fahn Cooper of Ole Miss - SEC
24) RT Avery Young of Auburn - SEC
25) RT Brandon Shell of South Carolina - Art Shell's nephew
26) OL Cole Toner of Harvard
27) OL Stephane Nembot of Colorado - major project but has tools
28) OT Keith Lumpkin of Rutgers - excellent feet and length
29) LB BJ Goodson of Clemson (because Sy likes him)
30) WLB Travis Feeney of Washington - very fast
31) WLB Beniquez Brown of Mississippi State
32) WLB De'Vondre Campbell of Minnesota (who Sy loves)
33) RB Keith Marshall of Georgia - speedy guy
34) RB Tyler Ervin of San Jose State - speedster
35) SS Miles Killebrew of Southern Utah - hard, bone-crunching hitter
36) SS Elijah Shumate of Notre Dame
37) FS Jalen Mills of LSU - versatile but major off-the-field issues
38) SS Jeremy Cash of Duke - excellent in-the-box
39) TE Beau Sandland of Montana State - never saw
And to round out 40.....
Remember DE Shawn Oakman of Baylor? Haha
Also curious to see where Scooby Wright and Tyler Matakevich wind up
Andrew plays like he has something wrong with his hips. They are so locked that he lacks the flexibility to change directions or bend without going to the ground. He loses balance if he is not locked onto a blocker and has immature hand usage to get off blocks and make tackles in the hole. Andrew is a rotation nose tackle and his lack of athleticism and football intelligence will affect what round he is selected in this draft. Nevertheless, Andrew could develop into a beast as a nose tackle if he can learn better hand usage.
Weatherly of Vanderbilt. Could be used similar to how the Spags used Kiwanuka back in the day, but I think Weatherly is more used to that already. One thing is clear, I would not mind stockpiling picks if some team called and wanted to trade up because they realize that there is one name clearly at the top of the board. Ideally I would like to see the remaining picks on a combination of OL and Front 7 players, though if we are staring at Dixon or possibly Booker in Round 4 that is awfully tempting. While there are two TE from the state of South Carolina available, I am not sure they are that much better than what we have or can find after the draft is over. This is a weak year at TE and only really Hunter Henry would have been a clear upgrade
1) DT Andrew Billings of Baylor
2) RB Jordan Howard of Indiana

Scooby won't be drafted
Why is apparently dropping? I didn't expect him off the board yet but I've read how his stock is really dropping. I was hoping the Giants would grab him in Round 4 yet there are still many better names out there IMO. I like Scooby though.

GD: 7 & 2, in that order. Hawkins would start at ROT. Howard is a special back who I think might be the best in the draft behind Zeke.
I dont see it. I think he would just be another later round draft pick at LB that will not work out for us. Obviously my opinion is not based on much. I just don't see instincts. I dont see the ability to get off of blocks. He is very hesitant because he is trying to diagnose the play. Now, the mojority of his snaps were on the inside. He does look better on the outside but still not what this D needs imo.
All that matters is that this is one draft where Reese & Co. absolutely, positively, cannot go 0-3 on Day 3. They don't need to find starters (although that would be nice), but they do need to find serviceable role players who will be able to contribute when called upon.
I think its people not seeing that he can rush the passer from the interior as well as play the leverage game, especially, since we already have bigs, that makes him even more valuable, an unusually strong/quick 3.
He is the one guy that sticks out to me, because I would have considered him in the 3rd and thought he would go in the 2nd or 3rd.
I have the same question..If he's a "first round talent," then why is he still sitting there?
***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Pretty much because his game disappears against talented offensive linemen.
By the way, they were touting this draft as best all time for interior linemen. Mayock was saying you could get great value all throughout and even into the undrafted guys, and was saying every GM he spoke with said the same.
If that's the case, why no standouts at DL? Have they really depleted that pool? Did we miss out on this?
We could use him in a semi open single gap, at the 3, as opposed to the 0 or 1, and let him terrorize people with the quick get off, power and low leverage.
What we have wanted for years and could never find, right there.

Agreed on Hawkins, Retro. I'm not completely sold on Howard though, but I buy the upside - there's a bunch of RBs left that I think are strong bets to be productive contributors (Dixon, Williams, Collins, Booker, Perkins) as well as the Keith Marshall lotto ticket with speed to burn.
I'd like to keep an eye on Victor Ochi in the 5th or 6th as that Joker pass rusher that the Giants have tried to target in the past.
Dallas Morning News says that Billings has a possible knee issue Â
anyone really trust Reese today? He has wasted almost every day three pick for years. It’s like this day doesn’t even exist. And of course he won’t even consider trading down to get extra picks. My guess is he goes “rouge” again like he did last year with Thompson. He’s smarter than everyone else.
Here’s who I like, none of who will probably be on the Giants:
Andrew Billings
Hassan Ridgeway
Willie Henry
Caleb Benenoch

Better find a way to leave today's draft with Scoobie Wright, Dixon/Booker, and a serviceable OG/OT. Plenty of linemen are found on day 3 that start and play well. Booker and Dixon are value picks right here in rounds 4-7. Scoobie wright doesn't have the measurables or the combine numbers, but I do not care. He is Zach Thomas reincarnated. I'm telling you this kid is gonna be good. I screamed about Burfict and knew he'd be great, I'm doing the same here for Wright. The kid is a football player and his instincts are second to none. You can't teach instincts. Do us a favor Reese, please.
Gives the Giants something they need: An inside pass rusher. He is explosive and gets penetration. Too small for regular inside duty, but ideal as a situational player. He also can be used at DE. Excellent intangibles.

I like Day also. McGovern would be a good get in round 5. He has the versatility to play both guard and tackle.
Brown is intriguing because he is exactly the type of LB this team needs. He is undersized but good in coverage and would help against Ertz, Reed, and Witten.
had 18 TFL last year alone, believe he led all college football in tackles at the line of scrimmage or behind it and has 7 FF's over the past couple years. 2 years ago he had 5.5 sacks and basically played his entire career as an in the box safety. Was only 6'/212 at the combine but he has long arms (33 inches), I'd have him add 5-10 pounds and play WLB. Pairing him and Collins as nickel LB's would do wonders to stop the Lance Dunbars/Jason Wittens of the world from roasting us in 2 minute drills.
Offensive tackle that never plays a down for us.....ha. I think we had a decent draft the first two days, but we need a couple of base-hits here not HRs.
That's what I'd like to focus on with the rest of the draft. 4th round an OL. Westerman, Dahl, or McGovern. 5th round a LB. Schobert, Goodson or Scooby. 6th round a TE or DT. Higbee, Williams, or Ioannidis.
