I use the NFL DraftTracker Rankings, I have for years and these guys are pretty solid with their analysis. With that said, here are the 10 best players left (I left out WR,QB and RB) I don't think we'll go RB until the 5th or 6th and rightly so...too many big bodies left to go RB yet...
I selected the ten best players that would fit our "need/value" situation to this point.
*Rankings per NFL DraftTracker*
#33- Andrew Billings DT Baylor
#58- Kentrell Brothers ILB Missouri
#61- Christian Westerman OG Arizona St.
#68- Joshua Perry OLB Ohio St.
#73- Joe Dahl OG Washington St.
#79- Hassan Ridgeway DT Texas
#81- Jerald Hawkins OT LSU
#95- Caleb Benenoch OT UCLA
#96- Connor McGovern OG Missouri
#98- Charles Tapper DE Oklahoma
Who would I prefer you ask? Oh, you didn't ask...well fuck you I'm still gonna say it...haha
Unfortunately I don't think Billings nor Westerman will last to us at #109, hell they should've both been off the board long ago..but if either were there its a no brainer!
I've had a pretty big hard on for Connor McGovern for a few months, and I'd be thrilled if he was the selection for us in Round 4. He is probably the strongest kid in the draft and plays with a nastiness that we need. He is exactly what I covet at the RG spot, and he could step in from day one and solidify that position. Plus he can play RT, now it's not his best position in the pro's, but he can man RT in a pinch. Nice versatility if you look at his college resume.
Jerald Hawkins is a talent with all upside. He is not a plug and play like McGovern though....but Hawkins has a legit shot to play LT at a high level, and at worst can be a really nice RT in a year or two....I just don't want to wait for him :( So lets take McGovern and hope JR really does pull off a trade for Anthony Davis, or someone who can be a good RT for us.
I'll look at Round 5 and 6 talent in a bit....flame on flamers!
CBS - (
New Window )
we need a Lber in either 4th or 5th
i like goodson from clemson or brown from akron
How accurate are these people at deciding who are the best players? Like is there a % correct etc?
OLB JOSHUA PERRY- OHIO STATE
DE MATT JUDON - GRAND VALLEY STATE
OT COLE TONER- HARVARD
OLB JOSHUA PERRY- OHIO STATE
DE MATT JUDON - GRAND VALLEY STATE
OT COLE TONER- HARVARD
I should have added those three were for the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds
OL Caleb Benenoch
OL Kyle Murphy
But basically I'm thinking BPA at OL, RB, or TE. With two picks on D the first two days, day three needs to be all about the O.
Must be some off the field concern.
Hope you're right though.
Benenoch
Westerman
Haeg
Kyle Murphy
RB
Dixon
DE
Judon-Good measurables, dominated his conference
CB
Rashard Robinson- shut down Mike Evans as a Freshman
And some Defensive Line:
Dj Reader, Matt Ionnidis, Hassan Ridgeway
And Runningback.
Jonathan Williams, Ken Dixon, Alex Collins
