can't remember that ever happening before. Not complaining - I like our picks - and we did make two big DL signings in FA. And we did also draft a lot of OL high up lately. Still - I think this is a first.
for draft guidance. With the exception of Tunsil, none of those guys had anyone rated highly enough throughout our draft selection to warrant passing up on who we ultimately took for them.
There were a lot of holes and 6 picks, I'm OK with what we walked away with. They have cap space, they'll find more bodies for the lines.
Indicated the strength of the draft was in the D-line. Not a huge area of need, but did we pass up on any clear value picks in the middle rounds? Should we have taken Billings or Bullard for instance or were the grades close enough to warrant our 3-5 rounders?
...NOT drafting to the "Strength of the Draft".
with all the depth at Dline and Oline (to a lesser extent),
it allowed the Gmen to get good value at other positions with players who seem like no only good fits BUT who also compliment players already on the roster!
The fact that they didn't draft an OL will probably
so we know they feel they can stand to upgrade the right side. And they very well may have if a prospect had tje grade when they were selecting. Looks like that didnt happen, or that the guys they did select graded out significantly better than any OL available when they were on the clock.
There are still cuts and the outside shot of a trade for Davis once hes reinstated.
Our OL is solid and our DL was hugely upgraded in FA. Good draft. Only pick I disliked was the S, but they went for a ball hawk, and not the freak Simmons.
Also would have had our other all pro Bookend to Flowers in Laremy Tunsil, but that is a moot point. So I might have taken a DE and an OT instead of a RB and a TE.
Would plug the last big hole on the roster. Now we could probably get away with starting Jerry but the wildcard is Hart depending on where they slot him, RG or RT. Really think he has the potential to take the next step and surprise alot of people after working his tail off for the past year.

I am just busting your balls. I know you said you weren't complaining.
No lineman
No trading up a few spots to get a specific player
Definitely looking more for need in the first three rounds

This is a great point. Sought after UDFAs have the luxury of picking the team they think they have the best chance with.
If we sign Ochi in FA, I think we'll be all set.
