my neighbor's son is friends with Tyler Samra, who was a starting guard at UConn, who played at Don Bosco. He was told earlier in the week by the Giants that they might bring him in as a UDFA if he's not picked today. Something to keep an eye on.

I have been following this site for years. It is updated pretty quickly and pretty accurately.
This information evolves rapidly in the 2 hours following the end of the draft, and this site is the best I have found to track the signings by all the 32 teams
Most prognosticators have Lewis going anywhere from the third to the seventh round in the upcoming draft. Still a few others have him going undrafted. It is certainly hard to ignore Lewis production in his two years with the Falcons. He showed an ability to separate, catch the long ball, and run after the catch. He was less impressive when asked to go over the middle and catch the ball in traffic.
I think Lewis has the ability to make an NFL roster and eventually compete. It will probably take a while for him to adjust to the size, speed and athleticism of players at the pro level, but then again it does for most any player at any position.
Lewis has had quite a journey at this point to get here at the threshold of a professional career. He should be fine if he continues to make the most of his opportunities. Link - ( New Window )

Okwara is one of the guys Sy indicated fit the Giants
Giants met with Greg Milhouse and Donte Deayon. Both had excellent careers in college. Id give both an outside chance to make the 53 or at least the PS.
Name Roger Lewis, School Bowling Green, Hgt- 6020, Wgt 199
Strong Points: Tall and long limbed receiver with a wide catch radius and long strides. Easy hands catcher. Will bring in the ball away from his body. Very good body control and balance when attacking the ball. Successful in jump ball situations. Always seems balanced and ready to alter his weight. Can shield the defender from the ball. Assertive after the catch. Will break tackles and gain the extra tough yards. Understands the game and his role very well. Smart and heady player. Good decision maker.
Weak Points: Doesnt have the speed to outrun defensive backs downfield. Lacks quickness and agility to get himself open underneath. Will struggle to separate. Limited route runner in college. Can get altered at the line for too long by press coverage. Had off field troubles in high school.
Summary: Third year junior entry. Has come a long way since his days as a high school senior where he was being charged with rape on two different accounts. Both were dismissed. Lewis got back on track after a year of prep school and ended up finishing fifth in yards and third in touchdowns among FCS receivers this past season. Lewis has the ball skills and strength to factor in one on one situations, but will struggle to separate from NFL defensive backs. There are developmental traits here to work with but the athleticism may not be NFL-caliber.
PS guy, but he has more tools than you normally see from a Day 3 or UDFA but the amount of time to get it, if ever, was a concern. If it comes quicker than expected may give more flexibility when Nassib is a UFA
Okwara, have the minimum grade from my Ourlads guide (that means no scouting report was even written on them). Okwara, however, they pegged for the 5th, 6th round and called him an "ascending talent". I'll update profiles of any guys who sign that are above that cutoff.

Yup - not a lot of potential sleepers here. Lewis was ok at Kentucky before he got hurt. Lewis played in a WR friendly system and faded. Also did nothing against TN - the one big time program he faced. Malleck could stick as practice squad as TEs are underwhelming. People seem to like Maye - I have not seen him so cannot comment.
is 6.6, 325
Quote from Rotoworld Calgary senior G Charles Vaillancourt will play in the East-West Shrine Game.
Vaillancourt ranks No. 6 on the latest CFL Scouting Bureau list. Per CFL.ca, he is currently considered the second-best CIS prospect behind Manitoba nose tackle David Onyemata, who will also play in the Shrine Game. The 6-foot-4, 325-pound Vaillancourt was named an all-Canadian pick every year he was on campus. "Charles is fully deserving of this honour," said Rouge et Or head coach Glen Constantin. "He was one of the most recruited offensive linemen across the country out of CEGEP, after he was named lineman of the year in 2011. He earned the starting job at guard right away on a very good line comprised of many veterans, including three who later became first-round selections in the CFL draft."

He's terrible - training camp arm.
I guess you've watched all of the Liberty games to make that comment!
Mike Rose had 15 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks last season.
For on OT. I just find it so odd they didn't draft & haven't signed one OL so far.
I agree, but even if you got a stud lined up that no one knows about, why would you by design, NOT add an UDFA OL?
Ross said they are taking 50% more UDFAs this year.
Summary: Third year junior entry. Has come a long way since his days as a high school senior where he was being charged with rape on two different accounts. Both were dismissed.
With respect, not accurate. "Dismissed" means a charge is negated by a judge's ruling that it is insufficient to go to a jury.
Lewis' rape charges did go to a jury. He was found not guilty on one charge and the jury hung on the other. Both involved same alleged victim.
Rather than pursue a re-trial, prosecution offered deal for Lewis to plead guilty to making a false statement in an official proceeding, a misdemeanor. He did and got three years probation on that charge.
He was playing out of position as an inside big WR (TE in most offenses) for Cal behind Stephen Anderson. Cal had 5 SR WRs and JR Kenny Lawler last year so his stats weren't big. I never trusted his hands, but is strong and runs well although not shifty.
We signed 4 wide receivers (and drafted another 1) and no O-Linemen?
James Kratch @JamesKratch
4 Canadian players to #Giants rookie camp, per @JDunk12: OL Charles Vaillancourt, DB Taylor Loffler, RB Mercer Timmi, OL Brandon Revenberg.
OL we get as a UDFA is better than anyone on the roster. The only way well get somebody better is if we trade for Davis. Reese brought a lot of veterans in to challenge Jerry and Newhouse, but they will probably be your opening day starters.

is of course only secondarily responsible for why we dont have a RT. Reese and Ross are primarily responsible, since none of their day three OL ever produced anything. Petrus and Herman were admittedly guards. But at least one of Brewer, McCants, or Mosley should have become a serviceable RT. The player most likely to supplant Newhouse this year is Hart, a seventh round pick in his second year. We shouldnt have to count on that happening.

McCants is a serviceable RT for the Raiders. He just signed his tender this month.
If we're counting on Stingily or Rodgers as our backup OTs
we're in trouble. Pugh can slide there, and Hart might be able to play there, but damn that's thin. And I don't see any backup OGs who knock my socks off either.

Good point - Pugh moving to RT. May be better luck finding/trading for a G vs OT.

The Titans trading up killed us. Theres no doubt in my mind Conklin was our pick at 10. The Tunsil bullshit contributed to us not getting Conklin but Reese has to shoulder some blame for his hesitance to trade up or down. And also letting it be known we wanted Conklin or Floyd. I think the Floyd leaks could've been a smoke screen to make teams think Conklin wasn't pur pick. Either way, we are screwed on the o-line. The left side is fine with Flowers, Pugh and Richburg. But we can't go into the year starting both Jerry and Newhouse who are both decent backups but below average starters.

Trade up..with what our multitude of extra picks ??
Trade down.. and get what.. an extra 4th??there is this fantasy that the Giants would get an extra 2 or 3 for trading down.. and thats what it is.. FANTASY..
yeah trade down trade down.. to WHO... who wanted to trade up..
Teams are going to add and subtract guys over the next few months so the possibility of adding a better OL guy than is here exists. If not, deal with it. Eli had his best stat year ever behind this "crappy" line and was not sacked an above average amount (ok - credit the system but it has always been an "avoid the sack" system).
Jennings had his best season ever and it was above average down the stretch.
Williams is a bust and he is responsible for failing to pick up short yards as much as the line.
I would have loved to have seen an OT in round 1 but it did not work out and the OL is not as bad as many think. If Hart can come through it gets better.
The Giants have had worse OLs over the years and you can't improve multiple units fast enough to make everyone out here happy.
I think it worked out great. Getting Apple gives us much better positional and overall improvement than the incremental increase of Conklin. Many were meh on Floyd so the secondary improvement is probably as good or better. Looking back I would bet we will say that we lucked into having to pick Apples
TE Cedrick Lang could project to tackle. He's 6'9'', 290lbs and some scouts think he is best suited to tackle. But he's very raw...former basketball player with only one year of football under his belt in college.
Milhouse couldn't be reached for comment Saturday. But Minter said he expected Milhouse to be selected in the seven-round draft.
I thought he'd go between the fifth and seventh,'' he said. But the thing with free agents is they can choose where they want to go. Greg had a relationship with the scout for the Giants. They went to church together when Greg was in middle school and high school. It's amazing how that came full circle. Greg had a lot of teams talking to him, but he decided to go with the Giants because he had a long-time friend there he can trust.''
2) This year's hot sleeper is Liberty QB Josh Woodrum.
Every year, teams try to target a late-round quarterback, a developmental prospect with a high ceiling. And the name that's come up more than any other when talking to teams this year has been Liberty's Josh Woodrum.
I have more work to do on Woodrum, as I've only seen him in one game so far, but watching him against West Virginia, I could see he's a big, strong kid with a live arm. Immediately, you can tell there's something there to work with.
I think several teams believe they're the only team on Woodrum, and there's a bit more of a crowd than they realize. He's kind of a buzz guy right now.
Draft breakdown having cut ups of players is a pretty good sign, in that they were at least scouted by someone outside of the team. KJ Maye - ( New Window )
Is that a lot of them are from smaller programs while no draft picks were from small programs. I like that they choose to "gamble" with the UDFA players.
A few of them are from major programs as well, but looking at the list it feels like they are being aggressive bringing in lesser known players scouts liked to training camp.
I like the competition this year at camp at TE, RB, WR and DB very much.

Maye (Minnesota), DE Romeo Okwara (Notre Dame), DT Melvin Lewis (Kentucky), S Andrew Adams (UConn), TE Ryan Malleck (Virginia Tech), DT Greg Milhouse (Campbell) and WR Darius Powe (Cal)

MY HOPE is that with a new OL coach here (Solari?), maybe
just maybe he can work with Hart and others and get more out of them. Late round picks have done nothing with
Flaherty here. I use to like Flaherty back in the day,
glad he is gone though. A couple were 4th rounders too,
you mentioned Brewer.
OL we get as a UDFA is better than anyone on the roster. The only way well get somebody better is if we trade for Davis. Reese brought a lot of veterans in to challenge Jerry and Newhouse, but they will probably be your opening day starters.

Decker is better in pass-protection and the difference in run-blocking between Conklin and him will be negligable in a year. I thought Decker was better than Stanley. IMHO.

Reese brought in 3 guys who have been primarily on
practice squads and bouncing from one organization
to another right before the draft. I mean you actually
have to play some, to be at JAG level. The guy from Cleveland started a few games, LOL.

Solari has helped turned UDFA into pro bowlers and gotten first rounders to live up to their potential. I know everyone knows who Brian Winters, Casey Weigmann, and Alex Boone are but they were undrafted nobodies until Solari arrived. Also Joe Staley played the best football of his career when Solari arrived as well.

Wow? Did every other team sign them all?
We don't even have enough for depth, do we?
Gotta be 1 or 2 vets out there that will be signed.
As unlikely as it seems, maybe even WB when fully healed.
Joel E. Turner @NFLAgents_net
For the record: Helva Matungulu, DL, of Western Carolina is SIGNED with the @nyjets though media outlets have incorrectly reported otherwise
I am still stunned that Andrew Adams has received so little pre-draft hype. An athletic senior safety with his interception totals should have gotten more run than Adams has throughout this process. I still think he may end up finding a fit on a roster as a third safety, a la ex-Patriot James Sanders, who had a long, fulfilling career filling in gaps and serving as a spot starter. If Reggie McClain can get picked late, I think Adams has a shot of sliding into Round 7 as well. Perhaps the Panthers, the team that gave young Robert a chance way back when, and again this past season, will select Adams, who is earning some pub as a potential sleeper pick, as well. NFL.com's Chad Reuter has projected him going in the 6th round to the Dallas Cowboys.
that Reese will go with one of these UDFA on the roster if they outplay former draft picks like Thompson, Andre Williams, etc. I can't stand it when draft position is the determining factor in keeping a player. Andre Williams has shown that he just doesn't have the vision to be a good player in the NFL. Darkwa and even Rainey are better fits for this offense IMO.

The largest I have seen so far for one player is $20,000 to Avery Young the Auburn OT who went to the N.O. Saints.
Craziest I have seen is the Eagles, who signed a long snapper for a $12,500 signing bonus, and also guaranteed $15,000 of his salary
I have no info on the Giants signing bonuses to these players

Hart will be the starting RT. You saw it here first.
Milhouse, Dillon become 1st Campbell players to sign contracts with NFL teams - ( New Window )
Add UDFA DL Helva Matungulu (Western Carolina) to the list. He agreed to terms with the #Giants.

A few of them are from major programs as well, but looking at the list it feels like they are being aggressive bringing in lesser known players scouts liked to training camp.
I like the competition this year at camp at TE, RB, WR and DB very much.

MY HOPE is that with a new OL coach here (Solari?), maybe
just maybe he can work with Hart and others and get more out of them. Late round picks have done nothing with
Flaherty here. I use to like Flaherty back in the day,
glad he is gone though. A couple were 4th rounders too,
you mentioned Brewer.
Not getting Conklin really messed up the OL. He was the only rookie who could have started at RT. Anyone else would need a year behind Newhouse. Tunsil cost himself $7M. He also cost us a RT. If that doesnt happen, Tennessee probably trades up for him, not Conklin. Then we get a RT.
Decker is better in pass-protection and the difference in run-blocking between Conklin and him will be negligable in a year. I thought Decker was better than Stanley. IMHO.

OL we get as a UDFA is better than anyone on the roster. The only way well get somebody better is if we trade for Davis. Reese brought a lot of veterans in to challenge Jerry and Newhouse, but they will probably be your opening day starters.
Reese brought in 3 guys who have been primarily on
practice squads and bouncing from one organization
to another right before the draft. I mean you actually
have to play some, to be at JAG level. The guy from Cleveland started a few games, LOL.

Good, lets see what he does here.

But at least he has an opportunity to show his talent. This kid was talked up so much on signing day.
Congrats to former @WCU_FB DL Helva Matungulu, signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Giants, reported by @CraigHaley of STATS.

Need bodies for minicamp. Chase Blackburn broke in the same way
We don't even have enough for depth, do we?
Gotta be 1 or 2 vets out there that will be signed.
As unlikely as it seems, maybe even WB when fully healed.
