DAVE TE ALERT-JERELL ADAMS SCOUTING REPORT

The NFL Draft Report’s “Final Analysis” Series – Giants Hope That South Carolina’s Jerell Adams Can Catch On in the NFL
No question that Adams has great athleticism. What scouts do question are his hands – prone to dropping too many easy catches. Coming out of a school that has seen just seven tight ends drafted since 1936, and just three to ever play in an NFL game, Big Blue fans might need to be patient waiting to see if this late round athlete can become a valid football player. The link to this article, featuring his profile, scouting report and school tight end draft history can be found here;

Seems like there are two questions: 1) How hard will he work to improve? and 2) What's the ceiling on his hands?

Reading this, you get the feeling that he never really pushed himself to the max (as a blocker or receiver) despite being a team captain. Here's hoping he's hungry. It would be great to have another Marcellus Bennett on the roster.

As an athlete, I really like Adams, but felt Spurrier should have gone with his first thought of making him a linebacker. Did you ever see that Scott Bakula/Kathy Ireland movie Necessary Roughness? Well, in the movie, there was this stud athlete receiver. His only catch for the year? The ball got stuck in his helmet! Welcome Jerell Adams, at times. However, for a 6th round pick, if the porch light goes on - wham.
ALSO-did you notice my little hint/jab in the opening statements? Even the unknowns (Boss) & less than regarded draft picks under Mike Pope excelled at TE during his time as coach. Look at the 2014-15 TE production & tell me they don't miss his tutoring
What do you make/know of Sy's comments

Regarding Adams' off field issues and his own people not even talking him up...doesn't seem to be a hard worker...somebody may have discussed this since Adams was drafted but I haven't seen it...

That report that I read said -

that not only didn't they talk him up (which staffs normally do to a fault) - they were down on him.

And, I am not exaggerating. I can't remember the exact quote verbatim ... but, that is close to it.
