Arc, I remember that

and of course that was the Bill Sheridan defense, because Thomas is Thomas.
David in LA: I don't think Marvin Austin was involved.

Refresh my memory didn't he say he overheard something at that Bears game regarding Marvin Austin?
I believe this was 2006 - the game at Soldier Field where Coughlin had Feely try a hopeless field goal and Hester ran it back for a TD to turn a close contest into a blowout. IIRC, the alleged halftime eruption followed a two-minute drill TD drive by Chicago that featured a 26-yard run by Thomas Jones on a 3rd and 22 draw play. Lovie was just trying to run the clock down before punting. That play was the beginning of the end for Tim Lewis.

At the time, Marvin Austin was a high school senior in D.C.

that draw play for 26 yards. Just got the flashback shakes from that one. christ.

We couldn't cover Muhsin Muhammad that day. And to make matters worse, Rex fuckin' Grossman was the guy throwing him the ball.

I guess if it's any consolation, that Bears team did win 13 games and go to the Super Bowl.
I don't think it was the 2006
pjcas18 : 2:32 pm : link
game, because that was at Giants Stadium.

I think it was the 2007 game at Soldiers Field.

For one thing because I remember it and even though I lurked here for while before joining I remember the post more once I joined and I joined before the 2007 draft.

It was definitely the 2006 game because we beat them in 2007.
The game..
in question was in Chicago I'm pretty sure.
Do the archives..
go back that far? They don't do they.

then the game was in Giants Stadium. 2006 was in Giants stadium and the Giants lost 38 - 20 (though they were leading at half time).

the 2007 game in CHI the Giants won, but were losing 13 - 7 at the half due to a Robbie Gould FG a the buzzer.

The Hester game was 2006 and was at Giants Stadium. I remember because you could literally hear the groans as Hester started returning that FG attempt. Also because Feely was the kicker in 2006 but not 2007.

Fun and useless fact.. when we played the Bears in 2007, Trumaine McBride was one of their starting CB's.

Seriously
It was 2006, at Giants Stadium,

Giants lost 38-20. I remember it all too well, I was there, yelling at TC to punt at the end of the first half rather than try a 50+ yard FG in crappy conditions.

2007 was in Chicago, and a Giants win.
Maybe I'm misremembering,

but I recall a version of glovedone reporting a dust up at halftime.

area junk, has been doing it for years. He used to pretend to be a Bears insider (when he went by the handle Thomas).

He made up a story about some epic event that happened during halftime of a Giants-Bears game that nobody else ever heard about, never made any of the beat writers stories, and was refuted directly by people who were in the locker room at the time who I knew (the training staff).

Then, as area junk, he's tried to say he was a Giants insider and yet, nothing ever came true taht he was saying.

Now, he's either a Niners insider, or just going off the deep end a little further. That's why you're seeing the hilarious responses here and the usual disappearing act by the Junkster.

He's pushed this so far... to the point that if this is an isolated incident of area junc being an insider, I think he either knows someone and is embellishing or is just has some sort of mental attention seeking problem that he fills in by being a faux insider.

No, he's posed as a fake insider for a very long time under multiple handles. He started out as Thomas over a decade ago, and claimed to have an in with the Bears. Then he became area junc. Recently, he started using Greenpoint as well.

Ahh gotcha, thanks for the clarification. Clearly he's out there, lol...

And I remember that Bears game well. Giants were 6-2, up 14-0, and Tiki ran the ball in for like a 20 yd touchdown to put us up 21-0. I was there and remember watching it live.

The TD was called back on a penalty. Warner was sacked and fumbled on the next play, and the Bears drove the ball down the field.

Giants ended up losing that game, and the entire season collapsed until Tiki's epic Week 17 performance saved Coughlin's job.

I actually recall the whole "HALFTIME FIGHT AT THE BEARS GAME" rumor. Funny that it was started by this same person.

I do it all the time. I got that 2006 game confused with the Craig Krenzel game for the longest time.

And I could have sworn that Rich in Houston said the same thing..

Rich lied and claimed he was sitting behind the Giants bench and that Shockey and another player were coming to blows and had to separated by other players, He claimed that players were screaming about how bad the team was and other such nonsense. When called out on it he said he could provide proof, he was asked to show any pics from his seat that showed how close he was, Of course he could not.

This is one of the many reasons as to why he is considered an idiot

At least if we're going to waste our time with Hokies, we've learned our lesson about blowing draft picks on them.

Malleck is a slow, undersized TE who can't block. Doesn't that sound awesome?

Talk? I saw Liddy at a party once, and he held his hand over a candle. Held it right there in the flame until his flesh seared. Someone asked him, "What's the trick?", and he said that the trick is not minding.

No way Davis is worth a 3rd with his head / attitude. No way.

A 5th yes because he is a starter, a 4th if he say starts 14 games or something.

If Davis came to the NYG's this week for a 5th I'd be happy because he is the immediate starter at RT and upgrades our OL overnight. We would also have superb depth. I hope it gets done.
