there is one in my town and the only times I ever step foot in there is on the rare occasion I need something immediately, like Coleman camping fuel because we ran out and I checked the night before we left for camping.
I like their selection, but the prices are just stupid.
I used to go to the one in Brick at least once a year before baseball season would start. They’d always have a nice selection for Yankee shirts in like 2002-2006 when I was in high school. Any player you wanted was there. Then once they got cut or retired I just used them as gym clothes.
It’s been a while since I’ve gotten anything useful there anyway, going int that store has been a huge waste of time for years. Just order online I guess. Surprised it even took this long. Do people even wear jerseys anymore? I hate the new design of the newer Nike ones. Miss wearing the ol’ mesh Shockey jersey I got after his rookie year. I got all of the championship gear from the 07 Super Bowl run there.
I can't remember the last time I went to one of those Â
so big that their sales have exploded. I've been in and out of those stores for years. The overall shrinkage experienced by the brick and mortar stores has finally come to a head. SA was always a sort of cockamamie third wheel in the game and they blew their chance at being profitable while giving employees the shaft. They sold a lot of balls, but you'd be nuts to think that would be sustainable. SA yanked the chain of the public repeatedly and their revenues just could never reach around Dicks or the other big box stores.
Amazing how quickly chain stores and malls are going away.
Am I the only one who thought going to Herman's was like going to Disney World? I remember getting a Rangers jersey with an iron on "Rangers" on it and thinking I had gone to heaven. Added a duct tape gray 7 and became a 8 year old sporting what I thought was a Rod Gil-bert jersey until an older kid set me straight on how to say it.
So much simpler when replicas did not cost $250 and the guy you had would actually be around for 10 years.

no shock they couldn't get out of debt.
Complete waste of time.

In my area we have Modells and Dicks.
If I need golf tees, that might be a modells purchase.
If I need a good quality softball glove - Dicks.
Dicks is like Macy's to Modells Kohls.
Sports Authority never really fit in IMO in what they were trying to do.

The last SA I went to was in PSL West, everyone in that store was miserable

Dicks will take their northeast customers and academy South.
