lets just make this cut and dry and talk about book topics here. I'm interested in discussing stuff from the other thread but too many potential spoilers.
A separate thread for those who read on Kindle as opposed to actual books? I hear the books may have included pictures and maps that us Kindle readers never saw. (sarcasm off)
Be interested to see what for. If he just shows up at the wall I'd be a bit disappointed. Maybe the brotherhood delivers the comeuppance for the Freys now that the Boltons situation is volatile?
I think it also helped how he approached the dragons. In the books Quentyn comes with a whip and tries to basically be Dany whereas Tyrion comes in with just a torch that he puts down and approached them very slowly. I think his body language probably helped him.
I really hope he's not a secret Targ, but I'm down for him being a dragonrider.
Would it mean that Tywin isn't actually the father then Â

Haha. It's too bad that's devolved into no talking about the book, even if it's not in the show at all.
I posted this link in the other thread. This quote below from the article is very interesting and leads me to believe that Lady Stoneheart might be back, if true.
"We also heard from another source that Kaye had been involved in some sort of hanging scene." link Thoros - ( New Window )

I think the general LS plotline exists just without LS.

I know it was Catelyn that hung Brienne but maybe they just scrap her still and make it someone else.

did that happen in the books?
man I have a bad recollection of the last two
Me too. My recollection was that they hadn't hung her yet. They ended her last scene with the rope around her neck and some sort of other cliff-hanger that I forgot
well, it was a cliff hanger. Brienne was hung but uttered something at the end of the chapter before passing out which may or may not have saved her life.
anyway after he finished reading the chapters, he opened the floor to some discussion about the plot of asoiaf, and some amazing genius girl said: you know my friends and i were debating this pretty heavily in the lobby just today, brienne screams “one word” as she is being hung by lady stoneheart’s men in a feast for crows - what was the word?
george turned the question on the audience and asked if anyone had figured it out - we shouted all kinds of dumb stuff, “jaime”, “sapphires”, etc. but some other genius in the second row said “sword”!
george confirmed that the word brienne screamed was “sword”; lady stoneheart gave brienne the choice of either swearing her sword to her or being hung, saying “sword or noose”, and as brienne was being hung she screamed “sword”
...because it's the only way the continuation of the story in Book V makes any sense. So when GRRM confirmed the word, it wasn't a real spoiler - just a clarification. ADWD was already out by then.

Why did it take a potential hanging to swear her sword to her? She swears he sword to anyone who will take it

Ahh yeah, I must have read that interview. Sometimes its hard keeping track of what I've read in the books, what I've read from sample chapters, and what info George decides to let us in on during an interview or whatnot.

How many times can a person swear her sword unto death to another person?

It was more of a "Go kill Jaime" order than a "Be my sworn sword" kind of order.
And I think this is about to be a significant show change. Rickon is with the Umbers in the show. If they give Rickon to Ramsay that's a rather large change from the books. I cannot imagine book Umbers would ever in a million years turn Ned Stark's youngest son over to Ramsay Snow.
Also, it makes for an unfortunate thought. We saw in every trailer they released someone flayed and burning on the Bolton cross. It was done as a display for the coming army. Could be Roose but what's the point? If for example, the coming army is led by Jon and Sansa why would they care? But they would if it was Rickon...
In the books where Davos currently is? It's been a while but I thought he was searching for Rickon and was at a place which had some Frey's hanging around and there was some debate as to where a loyalties should lie. I really need to re-read, but it just seems so daunting.
but I think it would be a bad choice. For non-book readers, they're not even going to remember who Rickon is. He's been out of the shpw for, what, 3 years? Out of sight, out of mind. It won't have the same impact...
Besides, Balon shot first!

Haha, Balon definitely made a move.
Long time speculation.

The theory is that the Mad King slept with his mom.

More like raped, but yeah, that's the idea behind a Targ Tyrion.

Got it. If that's the case I wonder if Tywin knew or not.

I forget, did the book say he slept with her rather, um, forcefully?
Looking like he's not in. Based on Yara making out with some chick in the previews I wonder if she takes his role and sails to Dany.

I think it may have been her daughter's name she screamed. I don't think she "chose"

What I think finally made Brienne choose was seeing Pod struggling to breathe, so I'm guessing they were definitely mid-hanging.

I thought (and I very well may be remembering incorrectly) it was confirmed the word she said was "Sword."

It is generally accepted that is why he hated Tyrion so much. His last words (or near last words) were "You're no son of mine."
