PFF's 16 best picks of the draft

gogiants : 5/2/2016 8:34 pm
Pff analyst came up with his 16 best picks of the draft. "A number of elements can lead to a selection being deemed the “best” — team needs, fits, and value of the player at their given selection."

1. Jonathan Bullard, DE, Chicago Bears
2. Cody Whitehair, OG, Chicago Bears
3. Chris Jones, DT, Kansas City Chiefs
4. Joe Thuney, T/G, New England Patriots
5. Mackensie Alexander, CB, Minnesota Vikings
6. DeForest Buckner, DE, San Francisco 49ers
7. Jalen Ramsey, CB, Jacksonville Jaguars
8. Corey Coleman, WR, Cleveland Browns
9. Andrew Billings, DT, Cincinnati Bengals
10. Josh Doctson, WR, Washington Redskins
11. Scooby Wright III, LB, Cleveland Browns
12. Joe Schobert, LB, Cleveland Browns

13. Paul Perkins, RB, New York Giants

After a number of one-dimensional backs came off the board in the mid-rounds, Perkins had to wait all the way until the fifth round to hear his name called. No running back in the class is shiftier than the UCLA product and it bears out in the data. He led the entire country in elusive rating (114.7) and was fifth in tackles broken despite having only the 26th most carries nationally. He may not have the size to pound the rock 20+ times a game, but he’ll be extremely productive in a platoon role.

14. Jerell Adams, TE, New York Giants

Adams is one of two tight ends in this class that we saw as legitimate blocking and receiving threats (Hunter Henry being the other). Among Power-5 tight ends in the draft class, Adams had the highest run blocking grade and the fastest 40-time at the combine. He wasn’t utilized as a receiving threat much at South Carolina, but he when was he was superb. On only 28 catches, Adams broke 10 tackles.

15. Will Parks, S, Denver Broncos
16. Jared Goff, QB, Los Angeles Rams

Not a fan of PFF, but always nice to see the positive
PFF's brand and methodology aside...

Talk about being vague.....
Eli Apple was among their worst picks

Because they value INT more than big plays against and don't fully account for the fact that teams didn't throw Apple's way
The more I soak in this draft

the more i like it. I, like many others, would have taken Hargreaves over Apple, well, actually I would have taken Tunsil, but thats a moot point. Would have taken McKenzie Alexander 2nd, Darian Thompson 3rd, and Pharaoh Cooper 4th. I don value MLB as much as I would have OT, but that's me. After 4 rounds is when you forget need and pick players who have a legit chance of playing ing the NFL, and Paul Perkins and Jerell Adams are those guys. Call me a sucker, but I a have faith.

I'd have taken Tunsil at #10 as well. No way you pass on that kind of talent for a guy who "MAY" be a great CB or just serviceable in this league. But we have to live with it so lets hope for the best from Eli #2.
If any BBIer wanted to remain employed by John Mara,

he wouldn't have taken Tunsil.

I'd imagine they'd be gunshy on somebody tokin up after the whole Will Hill thing.
Billings in the 4th

Favorite player in the draft and wish the Giants would have taken him in the 4th instead of B J Goodson. Mark my words Billings over the next few years will be another Geno Atkins...one of the most disruptive defensive players in the NFL and a multiple pro bowl player player..
This is even sillier than Team Grades for this year's draft

Publish your evaluations of individual selections in the 2014 draft and I'll pay attention.
They have an elusive rating?
Gman11 : 5/3/2016 8:27 am : link
Um...OK.

Do they have an "In-your-face-motha-fucka" rating too?
