I predict A War. It seems as if the battle has just begun. Norman will continue to talk. However this time Giants secondary will be prepared to exact a toll on the Washington WR's, and any other NFL receiving core around the league. Remember the secondary lost EACH game we LOST, within the last seconds.
Did the Giants get out maneuvered in the draft? Maybe if Floyd fell they would have taken him. However, It seems that their minds were set on the building a strong secondary. I give Reese credit this time. Their hearts were not totally committed, to take Floyd because there were an exorbitant amount of opportunities to make it happen.
Giants goal was the secondary. They addressed the defensive line with free agency. The perfect addition to LB corp may emerge soon. This off season and draft season priority was to secure the line by getting to the QB bringing in a new version of Mark Haynes and Mark Collins.
IMO the intangible that make Eli Apple effective is the ability to keep things calm on his side. Meaning: NOTHING HAPPENS! Nothing is what you want.
That's how Mark Haynes played. No long passes, No long running plays he turns ever play inside allowing the pursuit to smother the play. He is shut down
Of course. Panthers vs Giants brought the highest ratings in 20 years for Fox.
It is all about the Ratings and these Games vs Norman are going to be popular ratings heaven.
Another game that the networks will want to make their "Game of the Week" or in primetime. And the added bonus of seeing OBJ torch Norman twice per year. I wonder how long it will take Washington to realize that it doesn't matter who the corner is, no single corner can effectively stop Beckham.
Those numbers were low because Norman got him out of his game during the personal foul fest. But he also dropped a deep bomb when Beckham torched Norman for a long TD. And with the game on the line, Beckham beat him again for a TD on 4th down. Assuming the Giants have their other weapons healthy for the Skins games this year, Norman is going to get exposed by Beckham and if Odell ever were to have a 200 yard game, considering how much he will be looking forward to it, it might well happen vs. Washington. Norman had the luxury of having the 2 best cover LBs in the NFL on his team, who pretty much took away everything between the numbers. And a top pass rush. In Washington...not so much.

By all accounts the Giants were prepared to take Floyd at 10. And after listening to JR's presser after RD1 where he discussed Apple and how the first RD played out, I'm convinced of that.
Also you say if JR was committed to taking Floyd he would have because... "there were an exorbitant amount of opportunities to make it happen."
It would seem to me he had only one opportunity.
Most people speculated that the only team that MIGHT take Floyd would be Tampa at 9, but word in the Tampa newspapers was that they were leaning toward a CB.
So JR played the odds that seemed to be in his favor and sat tight at 10.
Then the Bears call the Bucs (since they were the ones hot for Floyd) and get the deal done. It's conceivable that Tampa never called JR and gave him an opportunity to match. If that's the case then the ONLY chance JR had to get Floyd was to trade up to 8 or higher. Not exactly an "exorbitant amount of opportunities to make it happen".
I'd say OBJ held himself to 70 something yards personally. I'll give Norman credit for getting in his head but OBJ did that to himself. If OBJ fixes that, he will torch Norman.
It was the highest rating in 5 years, not 20.

It's the whole opinion presented as fact concept. If I say it enough people are bound to believe...we saw a whole lot of this on draft weekend.
Did you watch the game? OBJ is a mismatch for Norman physically. Norman will stay on one side and he will only matchup vs OBJ if OBJ is lined up on his side, he didn't follow OBJ and shit him down.. He let up the go ahead TD vs OBJ and OBJ dropped one easy one after smoking him the first drive of the game. OBJ is going to torch Norman every time.
Their hearts were not committed...
I predict a WAR.
