My Son is officially a Giants fan

ECham : 5/3/2016 11:43 am
Last season my 10 year old son offically became a Giants fan, when he began to dread every Third and One on offense, and put up his hands when we ran the ball for no gain.

These were his takes on the draft:

First Round: Why dont we ever draft a LB?
Second Round: Lets just hopes he runs the right routes, unlike Ruben Randle.
Third Round: Is Newhouse really going to be the starting RT?
Impressive

I was a football fan at 10 for sure, but was the type who said "Why do they ever run the ball, you get so many more yards when you throw it!" Ironically, the league has evolved closer to my childhood ideology.

I also didn't know squat about offensive linemen, and I certainly wouldn't have had opinions on who should start and who shouldn't.

Well done, Sir.
Ha!

It gets better; it gets worse.

As long as he knows his stuff. And never posts on game-day threads, all will be well.
My son started coming to came around 8 ...

getting autographs and running around having fun ... started paying more attention after the first Super Bowl win over the Patriots ... says today he wishes he had paid closer attention. Hasn't missed a game since (a couple, we had to listen on the radio - but didn't miss).

Today he's 18 and schools me on the cap and various NFL rules changes. It's funny how it becomes harder to keep up when you're older. These days he's fully immersed in all things Giants/Knicks/Mets, 12 months a year.

Does he also wait to celebrate a Touchdown until he's sure there's no flags? That's when I knew my wife got it.

Carson was not a common name when he was born, (He's 18) but since then it has actually become a somewhat "normal" name. Big Giants fan! Has several Carson and Taylor jerseys.
If your son

was a consensus top 3 pick in the NFL draft with no baggage.
Would there be any teams or teams that you'd tell him to do like Eli, Elway and Bo did?

I would probably tell him to refuse the
Browns - train wreck ways

Maybe to refuse
Jets, Jags - Train wrecks too but not as long as Cleveland

Washington- This is more to be a dick to them. Refuse to join the team till they change the name.

*Dallas- Couldn't tell him not to, but I'd root for the Giants and that the kid has a good game.

As a Giants fan. Growing up it was always the Chargers, or the Patriots, or even the Eagles (I put my foot down on that one). I think my insaneness and the 2011 SV pushed him over. He still loves wearing a Plax #17 jersey around campus, it's like a "retro" jersey now. He even wire it for Halloween with a plastic gun stuck in his pants.
