Harvey day! Can he keep it going after a much better effort his last time out??

Wright still tinkering with stance. Getting results.

Duda could be on the verge of a huge year.

Harper wins player of the month over Conforto.

Facing the Braves lineup
Jay on the Island : 5/3/2016 11:49 am : link
filled with mostly AAAA players is a great way to boost ones confidence.
Just hoping they get the game in tonight
gmen9892 : 5/3/2016 11:58 am : link
If Harvey is really coming around, he should be able to go 7+ innings with > 3 runs allowed against the lineup.
For me...
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 11:59 am : link
I want to see Harvey flash north of 95 again and show control of all 4 pitches. If he does that he can be facing the Memphis Kazoos for all I care. We all know what Harvey is capable of. He's been out of sorts mechanically until last week so most of us just want to see a continuation of that.

doesn't sound that wild about Edgin joining them soon lol

MMO-Edgin, 29, must be activated from the disabled list by this Sunday when his 30 day rehab expires. It is widely expected that he will be optioned to Las Vegas so that he could get more innings under his belt.

“Velocity is supposed to edge up a little bit and move up. Is he going to get back fully to when we first saw him? I’m not sure,” Terry Collins said Monday. “He’s been pitching OK.”
This sounds impossible

HR update: #Mets have hit 36. Braves are on pace to hit 32 all season. 27 MLB players, including Walker and Cespedes, have outhomered ATL.

It truly is pathetic. Inciarte's return will help the offense but he has little power as well. Atlanta is in a tough spot come draft day. They desperately need a power bat but it is looking likely that LHP Groome will be there at #3 and he is too good to pass up.

Safe to throw away that May 1st return yet?
Going tonight.

I was hoping the rain would have been done by now.
Where would Edgin fit?
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 3:44 pm : link
I consider him clearly the thrird lefty even if he's AMAZING in Vegas. He's going to have a hard time cracking the roster.

You honestly don't agree this sounds like a tepid review from TC?

Lol. No your right. It does. I was more making a separate point that he literally has no chance of making the team even if he looked "amazing". He's a AAA insurance policy just like Goeddel and Gilmartin. Sorry for the confusion.
Gotta
DanMetroMan : 5/3/2016 4:14 pm : link
assume Gilmartin would get next crack unless they really insist he's too valuable as SP depth until Wheeler returns (which is possible). Might not trust Montero's health just yet.

Terry Collins says Travis d'Arnaud is just resting -- not doing any throwing down in Port St. Lucie. D'Arnaud is on the disabled list with a rotator cuff strain.

I look at it like Gilmartin is now Verrett's backup. Goeddel is probably the first call if Henderson, Reed, or Robles got hurt. Edgin will be Bastardo and Blevins back up. What will become real interesting to me is what happens when Wheeler returns and they go 6 man twice through. Verrett back to AAA? Longs ways off I guess....
Really Smoker and Sewald have been quite

good as well. Unfortunately they may never get chances this year.

Not sure if its been mentioned

But Harvey is very sick tonight.
So the excuses for Harvey are now coming out
PhiPsi125 : 5/3/2016 7:18 pm : link
before he pitches? :-)
Looked like a clean inning to me...
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 7:29 pm : link
Thought it was worth mentioning.
His velocity does seem down again today though
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 7:31 pm : link
Hit 95 a couple times but mostly lower than that. He was throwing much harder in his last start.
Welp
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 7:33 pm : link
This doesn't look good.
Not sure if you are watching a different telecast of the game
PhiPsi125 : 5/3/2016 7:34 pm : link
but I haven't seen him hit 95 at all. A couple of 94s but mostly less.
He just looks very ordinary again
Rflairr : 5/3/2016 7:36 pm : link
Not sure what has happened to his Ace stuff.

I thought I saw a 95 but I just double checked on gameday and you are right. A few 94s. No more so far.

Yup. Last start he was hitting 96/97. Way down from that. Not sure what is up. Oh well at least he got out of that.
I do wonder if it eats him up that he's now the
PhiPsi125 : 5/3/2016 7:42 pm : link
number 4 starter on the staff.

It's hard to put your finger on what's going on with him. He just hasn't looked like "Harvey" at all. Not even once.
I still think its mechanics...
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 7:45 pm : link
I heard from somebody who works with the team it could be his offseason regimen. He essentially rehabs ALL offseason last year in preparation of 2015 coming back from Tommy John. He may have been heavier but his core/arm were in great shape. This year he had off all offseason and this person said his core looks weak and he's not in "game shape yet".

I don't know. Its also cold and he had an IV plugged into him two hours ago.

I know it sounds like excuses and I get that but what's the alternative? He sucks all of the sudden? I don't think Im ready to go there yet.
Harvey isn't fooling any hitter tonight. They are all over him.
PhiPsi125 : 5/3/2016 7:53 pm : link
..
Well, I don't know what it is about Harvey that's off. I don't think
PhiPsi125 : 5/3/2016 7:58 pm : link
anybody thinks he just "sucks" now (at least not genuinely I'd think). I am tired of the excuses for all his bad outings, but whatever. I think this is the second time he's "sick" this year. But that's just me. If it's crappy off season conditioning then thats just disappointing.

In any even, we know what Harvey can do so let's just hope that Warthen can help him figure it out.
Harvey is such a bad bunter that they should just let
PhiPsi125 : 5/3/2016 8:02 pm : link
the guy swing the bat. Ugh.
Lol, Darling totally just burned Niese
PhiPsi125 : 5/3/2016 8:21 pm : link
that was funny.
I missed it.
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 8:28 pm : link
Went for a jog. Any trashing on Gee or Niese is fine by me. Absolutely hate how they kicked dirt on us on their way out.
Finally Freeman out
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 8:29 pm : link
I do find it humorous a week and a half ago Freeman was completely lost. Now he is white hot.
Jesus
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 8:33 pm : link
For all the talk about Harvey he's allowed one run in 5. Can we PLEASE get a freaking hit??? Getting no-hit by Wisler??
Geesh...
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 8:34 pm : link
Well thanks.
Ugh.
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 8:35 pm : link
Plawecki is SOOOO bad offensively. Holy shit.
Pull Harvey..
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 8:39 pm : link
Looks like shit tonight. Its the 6th anyway. Go to the pen.
These Braves have been hacking away at first pitches
PhiPsi125 : 5/3/2016 8:41 pm : link
all damn night. Why Harvey is throwing them right down the plate on the first pitch is beyond me. If this was any team other than the Braves, Harvey is giving up 8 runs tonight.
lol. Wow
ZGiants98 : 5/3/2016 8:42 pm : link
This game sucks.
I'm starting to get sick of Harvey
PhiPsi125 : 5/3/2016 8:42 pm : link

PhiPsi125 : 5/3/2016 8:45 pm : link
He's been straight garbage so far this season.
It wouldn't be so bad if our bats weren't sooo cold tonight
Ira : 5/3/2016 8:47 pm : link
.
He's topping out at 91-92 now
CMicks3110 : 5/3/2016 8:48 pm : link
I even saw an 89 once. This guy should take a break and just get his arm in shape because he doesn't look prepared to throw at the ML level
He just doesn't even appear
Rflairr : 5/3/2016 8:49 pm : link
To have elite stuff. Slider looks garbage. Rarely any swings and misses on it. It's time to be concerned. He's been struggling against shitty lineups
Something's definitely wrong with him.
