I want to see Harvey flash north of 95 again and show control of all 4 pitches. If he does that he can be facing the Memphis Kazoos for all I care. We all know what Harvey is capable of. He's been out of sorts mechanically until last week so most of us just want to see a continuation of that.
doesn't sound that wild about Edgin joining them soon lol
MMO-Edgin, 29, must be activated from the disabled list by this Sunday when his 30 day rehab expires. It is widely expected that he will be optioned to Las Vegas so that he could get more innings under his belt.
“Velocity is supposed to edge up a little bit and move up. Is he going to get back fully to when we first saw him? I’m not sure,” Terry Collins said Monday. “He’s been pitching OK.”

HR update: #Mets have hit 36. Braves are on pace to hit 32 all season. 27 MLB players, including Walker and Cespedes, have outhomered ATL.

It truly is pathetic. Inciarte's return will help the offense but he has little power as well. Atlanta is in a tough spot come draft day. They desperately need a power bat but it is looking likely that LHP Groome will be there at #3 and he is too good to pass up.

I consider him clearly the thrird lefty even if he's AMAZING in Vegas. He's going to have a hard time cracking the roster.
You honestly don't agree this sounds like a tepid review from TC?

Lol. No your right. It does. I was more making a separate point that he literally has no chance of making the team even if he looked "amazing". He's a AAA insurance policy just like Goeddel and Gilmartin. Sorry for the confusion.
assume Gilmartin would get next crack unless they really insist he's too valuable as SP depth until Wheeler returns (which is possible). Might not trust Montero's health just yet.
Terry Collins says Travis d'Arnaud is just resting -- not doing any throwing down in Port St. Lucie. D'Arnaud is on the disabled list with a rotator cuff strain.

I look at it like Gilmartin is now Verrett's backup. Goeddel is probably the first call if Henderson, Reed, or Robles got hurt. Edgin will be Bastardo and Blevins back up. What will become real interesting to me is what happens when Wheeler returns and they go 6 man twice through. Verrett back to AAA? Longs ways off I guess....

I heard from somebody who works with the team it could be his offseason regimen. He essentially rehabs ALL offseason last year in preparation of 2015 coming back from Tommy John. He may have been heavier but his core/arm were in great shape. This year he had off all offseason and this person said his core looks weak and he's not in "game shape yet".
I don't know. Its also cold and he had an IV plugged into him two hours ago.
I know it sounds like excuses and I get that but what's the alternative? He sucks all of the sudden? I don't think Im ready to go there yet.
Harvey isn't fooling any hitter tonight. They are all over him. Â
anybody thinks he just "sucks" now (at least not genuinely I'd think). I am tired of the excuses for all his bad outings, but whatever. I think this is the second time he's "sick" this year. But that's just me. If it's crappy off season conditioning then thats just disappointing.
In any even, we know what Harvey can do so let's just hope that Warthen can help him figure it out.
Harvey is such a bad bunter that they should just let Â
all damn night. Why Harvey is throwing them right down the plate on the first pitch is beyond me. If this was any team other than the Braves, Harvey is giving up 8 runs tonight.

Safe to throw away that May 1st return yet?

#Mets wives took part in a pregame event with @Noah_Galloway to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of LI.
I thought I saw a 95 but I just double checked on gameday and you are right. A few 94s. No more so far.
Yup. Last start he was hitting 96/97. Way down from that. Not sure what is up. Oh well at least he got out of that.
It's hard to put your finger on what's going on with him. He just hasn't looked like "Harvey" at all. Not even once.

Maybe he needs an intervention?
