Tuck to re-sign with Giants and retire in Blue

per Graziano

Justin Tuck will sign a one-day contract and officially retire as a Giant on Friday, according to sources. The two-time Super Bowl champion announced his retirement several weeks ago after two seasons in Oakland. He's a surefire Giants Ring of Honor inductee.
Cool.

Easy BBI. Take your fingers off the keyboard and read. I was just getting another misnomer in there before the beat writers messed with Justin's name again.

Seriously. We could use him.
Awesome, loved Tuck!

Maybe he can mentor fellow Fighting Irishman UDFA DE Romeo Okwara, now THAT would be awesome!

He is one of my all-time favorite Giants and the argument can be made that he should have been a two time Superbowl MVP.
A super Giant.

Mistake giving Tuck a low ball contract offer and letting him walk
SB 42 and 46 and ? : 5/4/2016 10:21 am : link
when he wanted to come back to the Giants for just a reasonable offer. Not a critical mistake, but still Jerry should have kept him. After all, Reese had no one to replace him.

He would have been the defensive MVP last year if he had just put up the numbers of his last year as a Giant:

11 sacks, 7 tackles for a loss, a pick and 2 forced fumbles.

More importantly, the young linemen like Moore benefit from having an experienced, winning vet to teach them.
One of my favorite Giants...

Me too, also like Eli , the bigger the game the better he played. Only player with multiple sacks in multiple Super Bowls. Also, provided the pressure on the Brady safety grounding in 46.

Simply a great Giant.

do they actually get paid for these? If the vet minimum is 1 mil per year, he'd be due $2,739 bucks for this contract for a day, haha
An all-time great Giant

Class, dignity, humility, talent, leadership and a great teammate. Outside of Eli, my favorite Giant of the recent SB runs.

Go Terps : 5/4/2016 11:41 am : link
The incredible performance of the front office during the 2005 draft immediately took the sting out of having lost the picks we did in the Eli deal.

Webster, Tuck, and Jacobs is a hell of a haul even if you have all of your picks.
A great Giant

the consistent numbers I thought he would. That being said, he showed up big time in our two SB runs in 07/11. No question one of the best SB performers from a defensive POV ever in SB history.

A great giant who was hurt by injuries or might have been a HOF.

Somebody else was doing the drafting of players then,
when a real 3rd pick was actually helpful, LOL.

glad he is retiring as a Giant, would not call Tuck an all time great Giant. I think some get carried away,
when a player decides to retire as a Giant.
I didn't mind when they let him walk, hadn't played very well
for a couple years. I appreciate him helping this team to
win a couple of SB's.

I'd say Tuck is without a doubt

an all-time great for the Giants. There is only one goal in an NFL season and to achieve that goal twice in a career while preforming as one of the very best players on the field for either team, makes you a great.

one of my absolute favorites ever. "35 mil goes a long way for an Alabama boy"... never was a greedy guy. Loved his soft spoken quiet demeanor in an age full of "me first" athletes. Great captain. Historic superbowl performances. Always stayed late to sign autographs at Met Life practices in the summer. I highly disagree with anyone who doesn't feel he is an all time giant great. If his career wasn't cut short by injuries he was on a path to superstardom. 10 sacks in 2007 as a rotational D lineman...Plus his and Jacobs hatred of the cowboys will always be remembered fondly.

he was a very young Justin Tuck chasing down Ladanian Tomlinson from behind. He was a great player, and really was a class act off the field. Definite shoo in for the ring of honor.
