Jaromir Jagr is returning to the Florida Panthers.
The team announced they've signed the 44-year-old to a one-year deal Thursday.
Jagr has been with the Panthers the past year and a half after the team acquired him at the Trade Deadline two seasons ago.
The 44-year-old had 27 goals and 66 points in 79 games for the Panthers last year.
“Jaromir is a Hall of Fame player and had an excellent season playing alongside Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau,” Panthers GM Dale Tallon said. “His track record speaks for itself, ranking third all-time in points and goals. He has been a great

are on the bench. they all tower over him and he's 6' 3".
well, 27 is Bjugstad, and he's gigantic

6'6" or 6'7", I think, so yeah he would tower over Jagr.

Maybe the old man is shrinking with age. It's been known to happen.
well i mean those players

are also on the bench which is higher than ice level. I can't believe he's able to keep up with those 2 kids on his line as they are both pretty quick. Just shows that even with diminished physical ability his mind still reads the game perfectly.
and just noticed i missed the first part

of your post....
Isn't the bench floor an inch or two higher

than the ice?

Anyway, this guy is the Julio Franco of hockey. 66 points in 79 games is still legit production.
You still have to factor in

his farewell tour year or two (or five) with the Pens before he finally hangs them up.

I think if he leaves Florida he wants to go somewhere where he can win a Cup.
Just to

Put in perspective, no one at his age had ever gotten 60 points in a season, no one. Hes 20 points from being 2nd all time in points. So he might have peculiarities, but ill never forget how crushed he was when Cherepanov passed away.
I've said this before

but if you were to ask me in 1996 after his 150 point season if I thought Jagr would still be playing in 20 years later I'd have said emphatically "no".

He seemed like (and impressions I admit probably tend to bias without knowing the people personally) the athlete who was supremely talented but got by on talent alone.

So fast, so big, such great hands, but I thought once that speed "tool" left he'd be done (like Bure for example).

He has transformed his game in a way I never thought he would. so strong with the puck. so good on the power play, subtly physical where he sticks his ass out almost like a weapon and you just can't get him off the puck.

And don't forget he spent three years playing in Russia or his career #'s would obviously be better.

This! It's amazing how he is a completely different player than he was 10 years ago and is still putting up great stats. Incredible! Almost Bartolo-like :)
