According to Raanan there may be other veterans trying out with the rookies today:
"Sidbury, 30, is entering his eighth NFL season. He spent parts of the past two years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He previously spent time with the Colts, Texans and played the first four seasons of his career for the Atlanta Falcons."

We talked at length. Incredibly nice person.
He's another guy kind of chewed up and spit out by football. It's a tough business. He definitely loves the game, the game beat up his body, and the business discarded him. I admire the man.
Not really, but let us remember who the DE's are after Vernon, JPP, and Odi.
Hopefully the UDFA's work out.
Da'Quan Bowers
Alex Carrington
Both still young enough to contribute, but the injuries have really set back their careers

We tend to forget that these men are human beings. Sidbury was a fourth-round pick and worked his way up to being a significant contributor by his third year - tied for second on the Falcons in sacks, although he had only four. The next summer, he was passed on the depth chart and has hardly seen the field since, with just two tackles in the past four years.
As veteran depth, a healthy Sidbury probably wouldn't be any worse than George Selvie. It's possible that a guy of that ilk might make the roster at some point during the season due to injuries, if only on a week-to-week basis. That's how Tampa used him - to set a floor under the DE position in case a bad injury situation got worse.
It would have been easier to quit. He's articulate, carries himself well, he can earn a living outside football. But he loves the game.
