In another thread, someone was enthusiastic about Marshaun Coprich, and he's a nice young RB. But when I watched video of him I was struck by how he reminded me of a RB the Giants signed in the off season, Bobby Rainey. In school they were about the same size, but Rainey looks like he's gotten bigger since he's been in the NFL. And not only are they physically similar, but their running styles are also. But I thought that Rainey was better. So I went back and looked again, and I STILL do.
Three videos follow. The first is Rainey in school. The second is Coprich in school. And the last, Rainey in the NFL. And the last one arguably tells us most - it's the NFL.
See what you think. Not trying to dump on Coprich, but I liked Rainey out of school, and I still like him. He may just find a spot on the roster.

Rick, Rainey is also a much better STs player than Williams and has ties to new OC Sully from TB.
that said he's probably better than Andre Williams
I think. Some trade is imminent, even if it was reported that way 2 weeks ago....
Seems like a nice kid, and like he really loves the game.

Really shows his explosiveness.

Rainey is a nice insurance policy, but teams don't get better by using roster spots on 29-year-old journeyman backups. Coprich fits the Practice Squad profile going into camp. He will have to show the staff something special to make the 53.
Who's Coprich?
I think Williams has the leg up because he's a different style RB, he was drafted, and the Giants know he's a guy you have to make blocks for so he can get a head of steam.

The other way to look at it is Perkins backs up Jennings and Rainey backs up Vereen.
