Not sure..

if he was 2000, but Janikowski is still around. I can't think of any position players still in the 16th year who were 1st rounders
16 years is one hell of an NFL career. You'd figure it would have to

be a kicker.

And that's still not as many years as Morten Anderson.

as of 2015. But many people blasted the Raiders for the pick...but he made it 16 years already.

Was it worth the investment?

I'd say no way. Shaun Alexander was picked two spots later. Keith Bulluck was picked at 30. Those guys would have been far better for Oakland.
He was better than who we took

hint: Thanks Jon in NYC.
A can't think of anyone from 2001, though Vick might be back..

you'd figure a kicker wouldn't be picked in the first round.
Reese has had

some brutal drafts, but that 1998-2002 stretch is arguably a lot worse than Reese's stretch.
My how the game has changed

5 RBs picked round 1 that yr.
Surprising

Circa 2000, I just assumed he'd be doing a 5 to 10 by this point.

In 98 they did pick Charles Woodson. Mo Collins was a starter for a while.

In 99... early picks did not work out but Rod Coleman was a great pass-rusher.

In 2000, got two fantastic ST'ers in Jano and Lechler. Jerry Porter underwhelmed though.

2001 and 2002 were Reese tier though.
