The knock against him has been his athleticism. But his times in the various tests at the combine, including his 40 time, were easily better than average for linebackers.
Your work always stands out not just for its thoroughness but for its point of view and insight.
Thanks Charlie & everyone else who took the time to read and/or comment. I hope to do more profiles like this (I have another one cooking up for next week). I've been revitalizing Inside Football's site with some new and cool content (still delivering those practice reports as well.) I have a big OTA preview set for tomorrow morning that has audio clips from Hart & Brinkley -- check it out if you get a chance.
It's clear you do a lot of homework on these pieces and it's appreciated. What do you think Goodson's chances of winning the starting job inside are? If Goodson does prove to be a gem, do you think Robinson can play outside? I think he (Robinson) has the AA. What do you think of a LBer corp with Goodson in the middle and Robinson/Kennard at the WIL and SAM respectively?

His athleticism was weak compared against the other elite OLB edge rushers. As Mayock and Jeremiah said the Giants was a great fit for him and viewed him as the Giants future MLB. Jeremiah said he can play outside but thought his real value was playing MLB since he has a nose for the ball and is physical.
If he can play well for 2 downs then we have a new starting LB.
To take good angles in the NFL because from the tape I've seen he doesn't run to quick laterally seems his physical style is good though but I think Brinkley starts the year off at Mike !

All due respect, but lets see him play some pro football 1st.
Now, let's his game translate to the pros. I suspect he had the strength.....I just hope he had the speed.
Agreed, and this is the type of story about a player I'd like to read during the dead of the offseason, rather than invented drama just for click bait

At this point, I'll settle for two out of three. :)
Tape?
