if/when the phillie's season starts to return to normal, who would be willing to pay say 5 million a year for Howard? That is about what they were trying to unload him for last off season based upon reports.
over the top confidence regarding our options to replace Duda from Z and the person who seems to be the most down about this is Z! I guess that is how you know this is a fairly big loss.
Outside of moving conforto there and having the platoon in center, I am not sure what options we have where this is not going to be a pretty big hole the whole year. Also regarding Lucroy, I am not convinced that the brewers will be all that interested in dealing with the mets anytime soon.
I said it in the offseason. We had almost no 1B depth. Losing Duda is pretty much the worst scenario regarding our every day players. There's a few different ways they can tinker around(Conforto, maybe TDA) but most likely we have to sit tight and weather the storm for a while. The trade market isn't going to heat up for a couple more months. I could see us adding a Loney type now but if Duda is out longer than expected I see Sandy fairly active at the deadline again.
wRC+ of 58 this year? I don't know the construct of his option either. Is it a team option? Does it kick in based on playing time? I certainly wouldn't want to be stuck with him past 2016.
if Conforto can play 1st this could strengthen the team. Once our pitchers hit their stride the added OF defense by sliding Ces to LF and seeing Lagares in center I believe can win the team a few games. Plus Lagares is the type of bat this lineup really needs.

Pitching and defense still win a lot of games.
I would be ok with doing that for now. It would be better than watching Campbell in the lineup. If Lagares/De Aza aren't hitting at the deadline go get a Braun and put him in LF. Boom. Lineup is lethal again.

For not signing that extension
Dude. It was a one year option. lol. Why do you keep saying this? Im sure he could care less.
I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject but as I understand it Duda turned down an extension before the 2015 season (3 years, 30 mil?) ... he now has one more year of arbitration and the Mets could choose not to make an offer and he would be a free agent.
Mets called the bluff and in essence to,d him to go fuck himself. Agent screwed Duda.
There are plenty of players that bet on themselves and choose to play out their contracts in order to become a free agent. Injury is the risk they take when doing so

Agreed if the player bet on himself. Problem is the agent bet on HIMSELF. And lost

Corrections gladly accepted.

Well if the offers being rumored were true, I think Duda's agent did a good job turning everything down but you obviously know more than me.

Maybe he thought the pitcher was pressing and was trying to put some added pressure on him or something?
It's twice in a row he did that. Crap like that really frustrates me. You don't even try?

Something has to be up ...two identical AB's.
Does that happen to anyone else?

Sometimes yes which is why I turn score notifications off. Cant stand it. But you might like it.
