So much for the Giants easing in their first-round pick. With Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie attending to personal business, Eli Apple's adjustment period lasted less than a month since being the No. 10 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. During 11-on-11 drills, it didn't even last one play. Apple worked primarily as the first-team left cornerback on Monday at the first Giants organized team activity (OTA) workout of the year. That meant constant matchups with first-team receivers, including Odell Beckham Jr. "There is definitely a big difference between a first-team receiver and a third-team guy," Apple said. On the first play of 11-on-11 drills, quarterback Eli Manning threw in his direction. But Apple blanketed second-year receiver Geremy Davis and the fade pattern fell incomplete. Two plays later, Davis caught a short pass (down and away) for a minimal gain with Apple draped all over him..... |
He just needs the experience. He's so young. The kid can't even drink yet.
When the giants have to decide on his option in 4 years, he will still only be 24.
Leonard Floyd is going to be 24 this year :P
Surprised they didn't start White against him, who was undrafted, to get his feet wet....
Man, football news must be really slow at practice, for this to get a sniff....
