A-Rod was asked how long his rehab stint would last: "I wasn't told, I'm just an employee." #Yankees
Gardy inexpicably anchored to 1st base
Stu11 : 5/24/2016 7:29 pm : link
almost cost us a run. Thankfully Beltran beat it out. We can't hit a knuckler to save our lives so when our speed guys get on base they need to run especially in that spot with 1st and 3rd.
Good catch on Gardy,
section125 : 5/24/2016 7:40 pm : link
especially with a knuckleballer and with Teix the DP machine up.
Well looks like bad

Eovaldi tonight....
Eovaldi is surviving
Stu11 : 5/24/2016 7:59 pm : link
doesn't have his A+ bat missing stuff but he's getting the big outs. Hopefully he can keep it up.
Wait a minute

Two on, nobody out, Josh Donaldson at the plate.....and he bunts??? You have got to be kidding me.

Somewhere Mook was both violently ill and exceedingly happy..
Eovaldi dealing now
Stu11 : 5/24/2016 8:23 pm : link
hopefully we can tack on a few runs. Either way the 3 headed monster is locked and loaded for the 7th if needed.

He was ascared he might get hit by that bully up on the mound.
What is wrong with this staff.
section125 : 5/24/2016 8:49 pm : link
0-2 hits; 0-2 walks. Geezus, throw a strike.
Now have to waste Betances...
Pillar gets a big break on 2-2
Stu11 : 5/24/2016 8:54 pm : link
he swung...then Betances hangs a juicy slider and barely gets away with it. Thank god it was Pillar...
The guy is a goddamned MVP
Greg from LI : 5/24/2016 8:58 pm : link
He should never, ever bunt under any circumstances.
Chase Headley #12
Del Shofner : 5/24/2016 9:05 pm : link
Slight facial resemblance to Gil McDougald, also #12, the Yanks' third baseman when I first started following the Yanks.

Wish Headley was as good as McDougald was, though.
timely hitting...good pitching

He says in his best Mook voice.

Yeah guy hit 35 or 38 Hrs and over 100 RBIs, MVP last year and so he bunts 2 on no outs?...Thank You.

Nice job for the shut out. Eovaldi actually got sharper as the game went on. Still sloppy, but man his stuff is good.
Good job by the young guys in the pen. No need for Miller or Chapman.

This is awesome.

Go Yanks!
in other news, there's this kid Rodriguez who went

2 for 4 in Trenton tonight.

What do you do about that? The big team's karma seems very good at the moment ....
They have been surprisingly good of late...
Dunedin81 : 5/24/2016 10:22 pm : link
I don't know that they've fixed every problem they have, that's still not an imposing lineup (and why in the bleepety bleep is Teixeira in the middle of it), but they're getting the job done and that's what matters.
it's becoming clear that Ellsbury and Gardner are the key to the
Greg from LI : 5/24/2016 10:23 pm : link
Offense....when they are getting on base and producing, the Yankees can score some runs. When they aren't, they are just excruciating to watch.
That was absolutely the case last year...
Dunedin81 : 5/24/2016 10:25 pm : link
before Ellsbury's collapse and Gardner's skid that was a potent offense. After it, not so much.
Yes, no doubt,
section125 : 5/24/2016 10:49 pm : link
Gardner and Ellsbury drive that offense. It is the way they are built. Ells actually looking competent at bat. Gardner needs to start hitting a bit more.

Agree, drop Teix to 6 behind Castro. Hell even Headley is doing better than Teix now.

It is going to suck to have Beltran in right but he beat out a DP so maybe he's running better.
Maybe having a few weeks off...
Dunedin81 : 5/25/2016 8:11 am : link
of regular running in the OF is making a difference in how he moves. That's the thing. Beltran is better than A-Rod, at least right now, at the dish, and frankly so is most of what they're trotting out to RF. So with A-Rod getting the bulk of the DH reps the lineup might actually get a little worse and the defense takes a big hit.
