6 straight will put you in a good mood.
Starting pitching, outside of Pineda, has been superb of late. Severino likely gets a rehab outing or two in the minors and then maybe a couple more "rehab outings" before they try to figure out what to do with him.
The bullpen has been very good, even beyond the big 3. The highest ERA outside of Pineda among active pitchers is Shreve's 4.00, and the next highest relievers are Cessa's 3.00 (in 3 IP) and Betances with his 2.11.
A-Rod was 2-4 down in Trenton, how he is reintegrated into this lineup will be interesting to watch. Frankly Beltran is a better hitter right now, and when you factor in the defensive improvement in RF from Carlos to whomever you almost wonder whether making A-Rod an everyday player again is appropriate.
Gary Sanchez took a foul off his thumb yesterday, hopefully nothing major.
Chance Adams had another strong outing in Tampa. The converted reliever has taken to starting and may be the best starting pitching prospect in the minors not presently on a disabled list.
Miguel Andujar is tied for the org lead in HR after hitting his 7th yesterday and is tied for the FSL lead in RBI with 32, so this may be the year he turns into a stud prospect. Still just 21 and probably spends half this season at Trenton.
Jake Cave was a triple shy of the cycle and has been dynamic at AAA.
Kyle Holder is at .305 with a 13 game hitting streak at Charleston.
The record shows that they are better without him.
Sebastian Valle up to SWB, Brady Lail to Trenton. Fact that Valle is going up may mean Sanchez is hurt.

Agree - he cripples the roster.

Truth be told, Romine is playing extremely well. Defense is excellent and though he doesn't have McCann's pop, but he really hits well enough that giving McCann a day or two off and it is not that big a detriment.
Talk about a trading chip. If Sanchez continues to perform, Romine might bring a decent price back.

People also overrate him now. He's a solid catcher, but he's not a star or anything.

However, Beltran specifically is a better player with A-Rod out because his numbers as a DH are significantly better than as a RF this year, even though Beltran doesn't want to be a DH.
He isn't going to be a .330 BA, 45 HR guy any longer. But, .285 and 25-30 HRs is not inconceivable.
Teixeira, on the other hand, looks absolutely cooked. A lot of weak contact, a lot of bad swings. Of course, Beltran looked like that for the first two months last year and has turned it around. Hopefully Tex can too, but it's very worrisome.

The problem with this is that the bullpen, which is pitching well right now, could end up overtaxed should you have a couple of five-inning starts in a row.

There aren't a lot of off days coming up. If it allows Tanaka and Sabathia to be fresh and strong for each start, it could be interesting. However, sticking with could also have a negative impact on the younger arms. I know Mussina, for example, did not like having extra days off.
