Just reported on ESPN that Harvey will be making his next scheduled start...
I am not a manager, but I find this to be comical. Harvey clearly has many things to work out, the least of which IMHO is his mechanics. I think he needs some time away to find himself again, but he keeps talking his way into the rotation.
Collins has to stop listening to him and do what he feels is right.
We have a fantastic and experienced pitching coach in Dan Warthen. I trust him on this. No guarantee Harvey will pull out of this funk, but the team's approach is not plainly wrong IMO.

My suggestion isn't skipping one start, it's sending him down to Florida to make 2 starts. Look, I don't think a pitcher like Harvey, with his talent, just "loses it" in the manner that it seems that he has. Darling was pointing out all sorts of mechanical things last night. The media and all that isn't helping his mental state. I think he just needs to get out of dodge for a while.
Arc and the thread police have arrived. I started this thread because I just saw the report and didn't want it getting lost in a 2 day old thread. I don't get why people like you have to constantly do the same thing. Nobody put a gun to your head and made you read this thread.

Why couldn't you share this in one of the 3 existing Met threads where it is already being discussed?

The problem is that you think your opinion is more important than everyone else's and deserves its own thread. If you sort by "last post" like most people do, you'd notice that two other Met threads are very much active right now.
I don't really understand the need for 3 separate threads to discuss the same thing.. but.. do you.
You can do whatever you please though, you wouldn't be the first on BBI to be stubborn about this typical etiquette
I'm not against them skipping a start, but I don't see how it is a cure-all. Harvey is pressing, he needs to pitch to figure it out. Maybe pitching in a less pressure-packed environment will help.
Look at meeeeeeeeeeee!
That being said, I trust Alderson's judgement and agree that Warthen is one of the better pitching coaches and his input is value by Sandy- probably more than Collins' opinion is valued.
I do think not throwing normally in ST hurt both Harvey and DeGrom. I understand why they did it but missing ST almost always seems to hurt players. Probably would have been better to just have them skip starts in the regular season.
