Encouraged by the recent folk rock era thread, couldn't let it go without another mention of my brother, JP Jones.
JP's a pretty damn fine songwriter with a large, if obscure body of work. His one major label release (Columbia/Windfall) came in 1973 and was recorded at the same time and at same studio where Springsteen was working on his first (Asbury Park). JP and Bruce traded day and night sessions at 914 studios in Blauvelt, NY back in the fall of 1972.
So he's been at this a while.
Everything JP's released since including all the songs posted below - tried to select a representative cross section of stuff - has been an indie DIY recording, basically a vanity project. He stuck his toe in the folk circuit water, but has never really toured to support his releases and remains pretty much a total unknown.
But I'm totally convinced the songwriting stands up.
Pretty sure fans of the folk-rock songwriters in the other thread will be able to enjoy some of this.
