scheduled to leave tomorrow. Mr & Mrs Gidiefor are leaving today, I believe. I'm thinking I don't want to see a cyclone up close. Hopefully, for the good folks around here, it will stay out to sea.

whatever forms cannot get strong. It will be wet and windy here in Wilmington, and Myrtle Beach.

Next update by the National Hurricane Center will be 3 PM EDT.

BTW I have seen plenty of these things here in Wilmington, and Hurricane Iniki in Hawaii (1992). Seeing them up close is actually pretty cool until they get too strong. Watching the storm's dynamics live and outside is actually pretty amazing (again until the winds get too strong). The clouds move incredibly fast and you can actually see a rain band coming at you.

As each individual rain band hits, the wind gets stronger in each (if the storm is coming towards you). It's not playing Russian Roulette, but it's more of how you can take sideways rain.

My family and I have been in Tropical Storms up to Cat 2 almost 3, and we would leave the house if it was a Cat 3 or above. The winds are too scary at that level and of course too dangerous.
