Colistin is the antibiotic of last resort for particularly dangerous types of superbugs, including a family of bacteria known as CRE, which health officials have dubbed "nightmare bacteria."

Most of the patients who have this are extremely sick ICU patients who have been in the hospital for extended periods of time. if you spend enough time sick in a hospital, you will eventually catch every bacteria that exists in the hospital.

I don't think this is a concern for healthy(ish) people going about their daily lives.
Antibiotic ineffectiveness.

Given that it was found in an older women, perhaps if she drank a hot water with lemon(real)juice, it might not have been so threatening.

Also a hospital nearby has had some success adding a yogurt pill to a strong antibiotic to treat C-Difficile.
Why are they using DOD researchers?
