important to keep that in mind as we tell you that sources close to Tom Hiddleston have told Birth.Movies.Death. that Tom Hiddleston is in fact in advanced talks to take over the role of James Bond from Daniel Craig.

to James Bond. That's some impressive range.
I'd certainly be on board with Hiddleston, he's a good actor.
RicFlair : 5/27/2016 1:38 pm : link
I still think Colin Farrell could be a good Bond too.

you can see some traces of Bond in parts of the character.

I've yet to watch the finale, but you could almost view that as a prequel to the Hiddleston Bond universe.
Anyone watch The Night Manager
barens : 5/27/2016 1:40 pm : link
On AMC? He was pretty awesome.
I thought Jamie Bell
UConn4523 : 5/27/2016 1:42 pm : link
was also in talks.

Hiddelston SUUUUCKS. Really hope this isn't true.

As Layer Cake was for Craig.
I think he'd be fine...
Big Blue Blogger : 5/27/2016 1:44 pm : link
...but Idris Elba might be a better choice to continue down the path they've created with Craig's four films.
He could be really good in that role.
an_idol_mind : 5/27/2016 1:44 pm : link
He'd be different than Craig, but Craig has already done the Bond developing from a raw double-o to somebody more refined. Unless the movies are rebooting again, I would expect Hiddleston to be a good progression as the character becomes more suave and debonair.
Hardy would've been a nice choice too

I thought Idris Elba would've been great too

Harder to imagine him as the action-hero type of Bond
mfsd : 5/27/2016 2:14 pm : link
That Daniel Craig was, but doesn't mean he wouldn't be good
Tom Hiddleston is cool
Ten Ton Hammer : 5/27/2016 2:18 pm : link
but I feel like he'd be best playing a Bond villain, not Bond himself.
I think Idris Elba is just getting too old
Ben in Tampa : 5/27/2016 3:05 pm : link
He's over 40. If you're casting James Bond I think you go for a guy in his 30s.

I actually think, since they are in this Bond sort-of-reboot, they should cast Elba as a 21st Century Goldfinger and reimagine that story.

Hiddleston will make a great Bond.
manh george : 5/27/2016 3:51 pm : link
Without giving any spoilers, the ending to The Night Manager was entirely different than in the book.

Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 5/27/2016 4:37 pm : link
But I don't think he's a great Bond. Will be a different style than Craig for sure, smooth as fuck type.

Elba was the choice. Too bad they didn't want his "type" of Bond.

Kitt Harington. Jon Snow. Would be as good as Sean Connery.
No two Bonds are the same.

Hiddleston is a good actor and good in acton roles. I think he'll do well.

Cavill was one of the finalists to play Bond. He looks the part, but I've always thought the best Bonds had something unconventional and less pretty-boy about them.

The main problem with recent Bond films has been the scripts. If they can give Hiddleston something meaty to play, I think he'd be great.

I'm not entirely certain sure about Harrington's acting. He's got that brooding emo thing down and he was plenty sexy with Rose Leslie, but I dunno.

Hardy would have been my #1 choice as well, but even though we heard his name thrown around, it always felt more like a pipe dream.

Craig will be difficult to replace, but Hiddleston should be just fine.

bond that put's boot on ass. Craig was ok but not convincing as a tough guy that would convincingly kick someones ass. I guess they need the women appeal so they had to metro him up a bit..

Craig was probably the most tough guy bond ever. Who was moreso?

This is an odd take.
But I agree...
Chris in Philly : 5/29/2016 11:57 am : link
they really need to get back to the hulking physical tough guy action heroes like Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan.

Haha, actually laughed out loud. Had a nice discussion at work before leaving on Friday with a coworker about how brutal Bronsnan was. So many bad installments, just a terrible bond.
Just recast Sean Connery as bond, again.
Patrick77 : 5/29/2016 2:35 pm : link
Have an ancient decrepit bond who use guile and intelligence. I'd be down with an 85 year old Bond who actually does spy things not just kill everyone and loudly pronounce who he is constantly.

Or just cast Dwayne Johnson with a fake British accent and go full tilt with over the top violence. Don't try to straddle the middle ground.

Hiddleston is a weak choice IMO. Elba or Hardy would have been way better choices.

Very much in the way Layer Cake, in my mind anyway, paved the road for Craig to take over the mantle.
Liked Daniel Craig a lot as bond.

If you haven't seen it yet watch Layer Cake. It's not the action or anything like that, it's the attitude. The style, coolness, etc. I watched that movie, turned to my wife, and said "there's your next James Bond".

I thought he was very good but his performance in Locke is one of my top favorites

Think you mean Brosnan. Bronson was a (great) movie starring Tom Hardy, whose name was being tossed around as a possibility for the next Bond.
