important to keep that in mind as we tell you that sources close to Tom Hiddleston have told Birth.Movies.Death. that Tom Hiddleston is in fact in advanced talks to take over the role of James Bond from Daniel Craig.
He'd be different than Craig, but Craig has already done the Bond developing from a raw double-o to somebody more refined. Unless the movies are rebooting again, I would expect Hiddleston to be a good progression as the character becomes more suave and debonair.
Cavill was one of the finalists to play Bond. He looks the part, but I've always thought the best Bonds had something unconventional and less pretty-boy about them.
The main problem with recent Bond films has been the scripts. If they can give Hiddleston something meaty to play, I think he'd be great.
bond that put's boot on ass. Craig was ok but not convincing as a tough guy that would convincingly kick someones ass. I guess they need the women appeal so they had to metro him up a bit..

Craig was probably the most tough guy bond ever. Who was moreso?

they really need to get back to the hulking physical tough guy action heroes like Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan.
Haha, actually laughed out loud. Had a nice discussion at work before leaving on Friday with a coworker about how brutal Bronsnan was. So many bad installments, just a terrible bond.
Have an ancient decrepit bond who use guile and intelligence. I'd be down with an 85 year old Bond who actually does spy things not just kill everyone and loudly pronounce who he is constantly.
Or just cast Dwayne Johnson with a fake British accent and go full tilt with over the top violence. Don't try to straddle the middle ground.
Hiddleston is a weak choice IMO. Elba or Hardy would have been way better choices.
If you haven't seen it yet watch Layer Cake. It's not the action or anything like that, it's the attitude. The style, coolness, etc. I watched that movie, turned to my wife, and said "there's your next James Bond".
I've yet to watch the finale, but you could almost view that as a prequel to the Hiddleston Bond universe.
Hiddelston SUUUUCKS. Really hope this isn't true.

As Layer Cake was for Craig.
I actually think, since they are in this Bond sort-of-reboot, they should cast Elba as a 21st Century Goldfinger and reimagine that story.

Elba was the choice. Too bad they didn't want his "type" of Bond.

Hardy would have been my #1 choice as well, but even though we heard his name thrown around, it always felt more like a pipe dream.
Craig will be difficult to replace, but Hiddleston should be just fine.

This is an odd take.

Very much in the way Layer Cake, in my mind anyway, paved the road for Craig to take over the mantle.

What did you think of Hardy in The Drop? I think it was the best work he's done, including Bronson.

I thought he was very good but his performance in Locke is one of my top favorites
Think you mean Brosnan. Bronson was a (great) movie starring Tom Hardy, whose name was being tossed around as a possibility for the next Bond.
