Bleacher Report: The NFL will miss Steve Weatherford

In Super Bowl XLVI, after his initial punt deep into Patriots territory, Giants defensive lineman Justin Tuck forced Tom Brady into intentionally grounding the football for a safety.

Tuck ran off the field, and the first person he looked for was Weatherford. Tuck poked Weatherford in the chest. "That one's for you," Tuck told him.

The Giants' players never saw Weatherford as someone to ignore. They saw him as one of them, because he was. He was a football player.

He does a lot of good for a lot of people, imo..I don't care if he's a self-promoter either. He appears to be a good man
That message he posted with his family

Saying thank you to the Giants after he got cut was all class.
And those 3 clutch punts

Really helped us keep punter as a strength of the team. Tough act to follow Jeff Feagles, who may go to the Hall, but he was tough as nails and did great for us.
I follow him on facebook too

He really is a great man and at first I wasn't sure if it wasn't an act but he really is the person you see on all the video's. We won't be seeing the end of Weatherford as I am sure he will be a hit on tv somewhere.

Sadly, Weatherford actually had a much easier act to follow than Jeff Feagles.
Great

... his hold on Tynes' winning FG against the Niners in the NFC Championship, as well.
Out of all players selected to go to the podium on draft night.

He openly rooted for the Giants more than any other player did their previous team.

It was funny while most of the other players were trying to act "professional" Steve was all "Go Giants" even asking his son which is the best team to which he replied "Giants".
"We're going to the fucking Super Bowl!"
