figured out to produce great racing. Nice to have Chevy and Honda battling in the motor department too. It's been a long way back, but American open wheel racing is on the rise.
Is really the "major leagues" of racing IMHO. The budgets, high tech etc. are the top of the game. F1 does need to have more passing, although one guy leading essentially an entire 600 mile NASCAR race was really unusual.
but I really wish at the end of the race it would have been a shoot-out involving fast cars. With the record crowd on hand, that would have cemented the marginal fan. Unfortunately they saw a fuel mileage race where the winner went a whopping 180 mph on the last lap.
Having said that, its good to see the smaller teams be competitive with Penske, Ganassi, and Andretti. Both ECR and Sam Schmidt had cars that could have won if not for the fuel mileage strategy. I hope 1 of the small teams wins in Texas in 2 weeks.
Kanaan gambled with tires, hoping after everyone stopped for fuel in the last few laps he'd have better grip and be faster.
Me too but driving the cabs is a lot less dangerous than the open wheels and the cabs are more lucrative, so most drivers go there for good reason
