I'm gonna be pissed if she ends up being the big hero of this story. Hopefully Daario's "you're not meant to sit in a chair" line was a bit of foreshadowing.
Is he supposed to be half human/half walker or something? He looked kind of pale and did he have magical powers? They sort of showed us a little more with all of Bran's flashbacks this week also. Seems like everything is uploaded into his brain. Can he access it now?
Showing more of that damn play annoyed me but Im glad Arya's story has finally sped up. Couldn't take one more moment watching her "train".
Seems like a lot of set up for what should be another big episode next week.
I have not read the books and do not read any other forum except for BBI so this is PURELY a GUESS on my part but I don't think the potential trial by combat will go as smoothly as presumed for Cersei.
I say that just because they've highlighted it for a few weeks now which makes me question how smooth it will be...
Definitely a bit of a slower episode but certainly an impactful one. Jamie leaving Kingslanding/Blackfish story line + Benjen + Arya's finally wrapping up is all very solid

Not sure about the Bran stuff but for Benjen yea that's what it appears to be. Apparently he was about to die and become a wight/undead person but the children stopped it via dragonglass according to him so it only partially took form.
Perhaps that's the reason he couldn't just go back to the NW after he returned?

Cersei is as dead as a door nail. She is SO overconfident in the Mountain its actually painstakingly obvious the Mountain will lose IMO. Kind of hate it but Im guessing we see the Oberon situation all over again. It will be good for Jaime to be released from her though and be out on his own.
surprised how little of Jon we've seen this season? He's had at most like 20 lines or something this season lol after his resurrection.
Obviously next few episodes will be big for him though
Not really. Season 6 was supposed to be mainly Bran's POV. Since his POV was left out entirely of season 5. Non-book readers are now only starting to see how important character Bran was from the beginning of the story. I don't think I would spoiling anything to say that the King's Landing story line is really being stretched across seasons.
RE: Another week, another shitty speech from Dany.

I think you are going to be pissed because it looks like the final battle will be the white walker army versus Dany, her army, 3 dragons, and Jon Snow and his army. This is just speculation on my part as I haven't read the books.

I am a little surprised but I have a feeling he is going to get the majority of screen time very shortly. I would be very surprised if the season finale isn't the battle for Winterfell.

I agree. It seems like the whole Dany story could have reached the point it's at with 2/3 the screen time it's received. Now I'm sure we will have to return to Mereen, and deal with the Son's of the Harpy, and I'm sure have another setback or two.
is plodding around. That's it, so damn annoying. She does not need nearly the amount of screen time that she gets.
Filled time the whole second season, now she does another big show to the Dothraki? Seemed no point, they were folling her anyone, and we know she has no ships.
The Benjen reveal was really cool but expected. No Tyrion, Varys, Littlefinger, or Jon was a poor decision by the writers. And Ramsay is still just hanging around with what seems like the remainder of the season until he finally gets killed. Im hoping the final 4 get back to business.
Disagree, we don't need to keep being beat over the head
with Ramsay every week. I thought the show lacked action but moved plots along and was petty strong overall. Bran's visions were revealing/interesting and I liked all of Arya's scenes.
Didn't care for Daenerys' scenes but otherwise thought it was a strong episode in what's been a great season.
last scene was awful, I have no idea why they keep doing that outside of catering toward the female audience. It's lost it's lust and the wow factor is gone.
before Ramsay can go, Jon and Sansa have to rally an army (i.e., presumably, ride all over the north). Even with a littlefinger jet pack, that takes time. We all want Ramsay dead, but I think just not having him in the episode was the best they could do for now.
Hopefully, that's the last episode we see directed by
Jack Bender. His two episodes have been the weakest two this season for me, by far -- drifting toward corny Hollywood blockbuster style, like Benjen's reveal. (Why wait until Bran asks, "Who are you?" and then melodramatically unwrap the hood and scarf? It's your nephew, dude.)
A closing scene with Dany flexing muscles with dragons. How many is enough? 3? 4? 5?
Episodes without Tyrion and Jon are just missing something. (Probably Tyrion and Jon.)
Hopefully, something happens in the the Sam and Gilly storyline sometime. We've invested about ten hours of our lives in it.
This season needs to move on from the Bender lull and pick up again next week with quality like the first four episodes this season.

I get the logistics of it, just sucks that he isn't dead yet so the show can move on from that plotline.
I'm looking forward to what happens at Riverrun, where Sam will be fleeing to (and where the sword comes into play), and where the Pyke fleet is headed. I'm ready for Dany and co to head west as well, that whole plot needs major progression.
Also agree with Mr. Bungle, Benders direction is very "hollywood". Too much cheese, not enough substance. He directed a bunch of Lost episodes including the highly controversial finale, so I guess it makes sense that he's having a hard time with a show of this magnitude.
but I'm an easy critic when it comes to GoT. I mean any episode with Mad King flashbacks will have me happy. Tommen being converted into a fanatic is interesting and how that will work with the Lannisters/Tyrells trying to control him should be exciting.
One thing I missed with Arya was that after the waif saw her, she spoke to Joqen. Was it implied or explicitly stated that she is going to try and kill Arya?

Explicitly stated.
Really? I don't recall that. I think it was strongly implied
When Arya failed to do her duty, the Waif said something along the lines of "you promised" but never said exactly what was promised

think the waif is a faceless man or whatever. I think she just resides with them. Either way I am sure the faceless men have some type of thing where if you stray or don't complete training they can and will off you
confuses me. They started as a group bringing the "gift" of death to slaves and ultimately killed their masters and basically created the Free City of Braavos.
Now they're hitmen for hire with apparently no regard for who they kill as long as the price is right.
I thought somewhere there would be some kind of moral compass.
And how could that young actress ever afford a Faceless Man ?
Random thoughts:
I liked it more the second time. I agree, Dany's speech was not well written and it lacked the drama of her coming out of the fire naked, but not much could top that.
I hope they move the Arya storyline now that she has decided she can't be a "no one" and will probably kill the waif next week.
Walter Frey returns, and I'm glad. I can't wait to see him get his just desserts. I don't think Jaime wants to team up with that jerk.
Tommen and Marguery, hmmmmm. I'm surprised by this, but I guess they want to extend this storyline at least to the end of the season. I would be surprised if this religious cult is still around in season 7.
Why no mention of Dorne? I would think Cersei and Jaime would be all over this.
What to do with Bran? I have no clue how they are going to use him. He doesn't go back in time to change the present or future, so I don't know why these dreams into the past are relevant.

Yeah I'm not sure how a second fiddle actress is paying them.
I thought the twist was going to be that she did the dead only to find out Cersi did the hiring. She had the Mountain going around killing anyone that looked at her funny or uttered an unkind word. That would've messed with Arya's head.
She blew out the candle with Needle in hand, knowing that the Waif is coming for her. She will kill the Waif with Needle and that will be the death owed to the Many Faced God.
And then Arya is heading back to Westeros.
My two cents.
Also, Dany has only ridden Drogon once before, and that was under duress and without much confidence or control, in escaping the fighting pit ambush in Meereen. Showing her having mounted the now-enormous (and apparently fully healed) Drogon, firmly in control, answered a LOT of questions.
I was really expecting more with Kings Landing this week. Boo. Oh well, this season has still been excellent.
That's the last time Jaime will see Cersei again...
Why do you say that? Last time Jaime sees Cersei.
Because Jamie is leaving Kings Landing. He flat out said "I should be here for your sentence". She said I will choose "Trial by Combat" and I have the Mountain." She is clearly over confident and the mountain will lose IMO. Bye bye Cersei.
Arya vs sadistic waif could be good. Blackfish and Benjen back. Sam going back to the Wall?
That's the last time Jaime will see Cersei again...

He is going to the Riverlands and so is a certain female knight. And a certain group was mentioned and we see our old friend.
Another point to say aha...

Me too that story line has taken up way too much of the show. I hope she kills the waife and then we don't see her again until she arrives back home.

I was thinking the same thing
I think the door is left open just enough for an alternate meaning to the Waif's convo with Jacquen.
