Very much do, imo.

I believe Reese made very strong moves this off season
gidiefor : Mod : 6/6/2016 9:47 am : link
I believe this:

The Giants will have a better defense this year
The Giants Offense will be no worse this year
The Giants Changed Coaching Staff will breath new energy into the team
Reese has maximized what's in his power to do.
ATL_Giants : 6/6/2016 9:57 am : link
If the question is asked now, we can only answer with what we know now. Asking if he's "fixed the Giants" is an obvious click-bait title. Does Patricia even get to write the headline?
More relevant is has JR improved the talent of our team and the depth of our bench. For today, it looks like he's done exactly that. Whether it bears any real fruit, we all already know the answer will reveal itself during the season.
One more positive

When the injuries heal, those players are back in the mix. Some of Jerry Reese's fixes last year will pay some dividends this year if we can only stay healthy.

I think Reese did a good job this offseason but there's really no way you can answer this question in June.
Last Year's Close Games
Percy : 6/6/2016 10:28 am : link
It would be interesting to see an analysis of how the Giants did or didn't strengthen the team in ways that would have (could have) prevented the terrible 3-points or fewer late in the game losses last year -- one that compares how the teams that won those games have or have not improved as well. That is, done over again, how many of those games could the "new" Giants be expected to win against those same opponents?
I am optimistic, but there are lots of question-marks still
sb from NYT Forum : 6/6/2016 10:29 am : link
...and I would have liked him to have signed a veteran FS safety and WR.

Reese has received some praise for improved drafts in 2013-2015, but I think that at best the jury is still out on many of those mid-to-late rounders. Pugh and Hankins really have to stay healthy and play well or the 2013 draft will look like another disaster.
How many people have actually read Pat's interesting piece?
Jay in Toronto : 6/6/2016 10:42 am : link
It's really about changes in practice and philosophy -- which merit discussion even before wee see how particular players have worked out.

Good point Jay -- I found this t be one of her better analysis's in quite some time
I was hoping for another vet WR too
mfsd : 6/6/2016 10:46 am : link
but I suspect they are favoring guys with experience in Mac's offense (Dwayne Harris, Myles White, Geremy Davis) over bringing in a veteran who's past his prime, to fill in behind OBJ, hopefully Cruz, and Shepard.

FS worries me as well, but really hopeful 2 of Behre, Thomspon, Thompson, and Bennett can stay healthy and turn into NFL players
I think the team is a year away
BurlyMan : 6/6/2016 10:47 am : link
but definitely headed in the right direction. Was encouraged to read that despite the relatively high dead money number in 2016 the team as it is currently composed will have zero dead money in 2017.
Fixed?
Route 9 : 6/6/2016 10:52 am : link
Probably. Def better than having a 32nd ranked defense, I'd say. I'd like a better flow of running the ball and scoring on the ground in the redzone.

New coach, new memories.

What Reese and the Giants did this off season, now we will find out if the Giants have turned a corner and are ready for one last shot with Eli in the next 2-4 seasons ahead. They need to show improvement, no excuses, on the field, I would love to see a 16-0 season, but in the reality of the NFL today, if we can get to 9-7/10-6 and compete for a playoff spot, I would be very happy.
Even if, as I stated, he hason paper,
Big Blue '56 : 6/6/2016 10:57 am : link
what is a rookie HC going to manufacture with these guys? Thank goodness we have Eli, he can mitigate whatever growing pains McAdoo has as the season progresses. Hopefully.

I expect the "newbie" factor to kick in in the beginning (See, Quinn, Dan)..Then fingers crossed
The question in June is
Mike from Ohio : 6/6/2016 11:23 am : link
"Do you agree with the moves Jerry Reese made this offseason?"

"Has Jerry Reese fixed the Giants?" Is not a question that anyone can answer intelligently yet.
can we play the season first?
Victor in CT : 6/6/2016 11:30 am : link
for chrissakes we don't even know what the final roster is yet
I think a big "key" to this season will be a FAST start
SGMen : 6/6/2016 11:37 am : link
We need to start 3-0 and we need to start out of the gates healthier than we've ever been.

I'd love for a quality starting RT to be cut from an NFL team for cap reasons and we sign him. Outside of that, we will likely go with what we have. Our OL play should be better simply because Flowers, Richburg and Pugh will all have more experience than they did last year. The right side remains weak but serviceable enough for right now. You can't have everything today.

If your young players develop and our signings stay healthy and play up to par there is no reason to believe we can't win the division.
You cannot answer this question in June
ANGPASS : 6/6/2016 12:11 pm : link
But I will say, Jerry Reese has made moves that have high potential to turn this team around.

I didn't see this in the article but there was no mention to coaching changes. I have a feeling people are going to want to be mad at Reese and Mara fro not hiring Mcadoo earlier. This guy comes off perfectly for this HC gig. Old school/ hard nosed mentality with the modern day approach.
That was a well written article

"Fixed" is a bit of a stretch.
George : 6/6/2016 12:27 pm : link
"Moving in the right direction" is more accurate. So is, "not quite as dreadful as 2014 and 2015."
Our defense goes from awful to average.
Ira : 6/6/2016 12:43 pm : link
Our offense goes from pretty good to good.
Unknown.
Rick5 : 6/6/2016 12:52 pm : link
I tend to be more optimistic than most, but I am tempering my expectations this year. They potentially could still have some significant issues with the OL, TE, RB, LB, and possibly at safety. Plus, who the hell knows if BM is going to turn out to be a good HC? I am taking a wait and see approach.
No but he on the right track
Vegas Steve : 6/6/2016 1:03 pm : link
Overall depth is The Achilles' heel of the team.

Our o-line still needs upgraging, our LB,s are still a major concern.

On the bright side I think Jerry had his best draft in years. The street FA especially WR's have a great shot at making the team or at least the PS

I liked 2 of the 3 signings snacks and Oliver were HR's JJ not so much but still a solid player I thought Smith in KC or JJ's running mate Cromwell I think his name is.

If we stay healthy we can have a winning record right now I'd say we are an 8-8 team but next year a definite contender with a solid draft and 1 or 2 steady solid FA signing

This...it's impossible to say he did or not now.
Good article
trueblueinpw : 6/6/2016 1:20 pm : link
Worth a read. I do think JR has the Giants going in the right direction in terms of cutting guys more quickly and drafting "football players" as opposed to "athletes" who aren't football ready. Though it begs the questions: why would JR ever have drafted anything but "football players", and, what the hell did he hope to accomplish by "giving guys the chance to fail"? I never understood TC's "green zone" ridiculousness or his tolerance for Fewell's notoriously assbackwards defensive nomenclature. But TC and JR won two SBs so something was obviously working. Just as obvious is that our losing seasons indicated something was no longer working. How much TC had to do with all that ailed the franchise, or how much TC was able to mask JRs bad personnel moves is the $100,000 question?

I think the Defense if healthy will make a huge Jump just having a FS who is a ball hawk Thompson is making strides without the pads of course . Hankins is gonna have a bounce back year with snacks next to him and hopefully Robinson can stay healthy were are so much better up the middle and we will be much more than average .
Add some depth to the O-line with some luck we get a healthy Cruz back the offense could be lethal .
We can contend this year just got to get in .
10-6 is my prediction .

Mr. Huff you just said everything in those last 6 words. "if we can only stay healthy" I have been a diehard Giant fan...die die die hard since 1976. (ill be 46 next month). By the time I was 7 no one in my family would watch games with me. I was already too crazy to watch a game with. I have never in my 40 years of watching every second of every game (ok I got married on a sunday in nov 1999 when giants crushed the cardinals, so i missed a few plays and there was that one time when my girlfriend was doing things to me during one of the games) seen what I have seen 3 years in a row. I am completely scarred by this injury bug. Every single play i'm waiting for an injury. Every practice, ota, drill. Just waiting to hear this or one that one is injured. Please..please...please let us stay healthy and let us all say...amen.
