(After pretty much forgetting you'd listened the hell out of it at another time in your life.)
For me, it's Screaming Trees.
Liked them back then ... but now re-listening and finding that their stuff holds up. I might even like if more NOW than 20-some years ago. Good stuff.

"1 2 X U" from their debut album Pink Flag was famously covered by Minor Threat but the second album Chairs Missing is brilliant and paves the way for Fugazi.

Bama...great call on English Beat. I used to wear out my copy of the
"I Just Can't Stop It" CD.
Sister* Morphine. Don't know what I was thinking, but Sinister Morphine would be a great song, too, no doubt.
I found I wasn't all that into it. Wonder why I was back then? lol
great soundtrack by the way.
the closest I get is The Jesus and Mary Chain or Ned's Atomic Dustbin. they'll come on my iphone on random shuffle and then I'll end shuffle and just play their songs. Jesus and Mary Chain had more songs than Ned's but Ned's had a few good ones too. Violent Femmes is another.
Jesus he was epic.
Alex Chilton! RIP Haven't listened to Big Star in a while. Thanks for the reminder.
It had been a while... these are transporting me right back to high school.

Wow, they were part of the Long Island Hardcore family. I think their split EP with Indecision is collecting dust somewhere in my parents attic. This was a side project for the two guitar players. Their main band, Glassjaw, had some commercial success and is still together.

Beezer, are you a fan of Mark Lanegan's work with Queens of the Stone Age? He's an underrated contributor.
Well played.

I liked him too, but I guess that nothing lasts.
