Reed has certainly looked human of late.
#BREAKING NEWS: According to a source with knowledge of their plans, the #Mets will sign Jose Reyes by the end of this weekend.

Blevins has been our LOOGY. He rarely ever even pitches a full inning. Until a week ago, Henderson pitched the 7th and Reed had been one of the best setup men in baseball. He's accumulated almost an entire win of fWAR not even at the halfway mark. That's positively incredible for a reliever.

Taking what their given? The Mets actually played a real crisp game today. They made a number of excellent defensive plays in the field. They actually got runners in scoring position and were able to hit sac flys, ect. The things everyone has been screaming for. We had the lead. If Collins just goes to Reed in the 8th (who's been one of the best setup men in the game this year) its likely over. Even so, Reed doesn't suck and 99 times out of 100 the Braves dont hit a HR there. Its not like we bad news bears'd our way to a loss.

TDA has played in 14 games this year. FOURTEEN. But yes... most of our lineup sucks.

Yes, take what they're given, it's not a new concept. 0 - 2 count and you throw a pitch like that?! Yeah, I'd say that was a gift, mistake or whatever you want to call it but it falls under "given".
I love Conforto but the man needs to go to AAA.
Bring up Nimmo, Herrerra, Taijeron, freaking ANYONE. (except Campbell and Plawecki..which will probably literally be the next two to come up).
Literally, I look forward to at bats by Cabrera and Loney at this point. sad.

Yes he made one mistake. Compounded by Blevins not getting out the lefty. All pitchers make mistakes though. Usually every game. Its up to the hitter to capitalize. Good job Braves. They showed fight all night.

Was just going to say it. We can't go on with Conforto much longer. He is under everything. Rushing everything. He needs to go to Vegas in the worst way possible. Swap him with Nimmo. Enough already. Sign Reyes. Stick him at 3B. Take a long hard look at Gurriel.

I see this Conforto opinion a lot lately and he's struggled of late but he's still having a better year than granderson and he'd certainly be a better bench/platoon option than de aza. So I don't see how sending him down is a positive.

To me Conforto for Nimmo is an easy simple switch for a while.
today they are 5 games over .500 (38 - 33) and 4 games back
so yeah, they're further back in the race, but still playing better than a year ago in terms of W/L.

You can't win with a lineup with batting averages like that. Just can't. Then throw in that the guy with the highest average is Loney, someone they basically reclaimed from the scrap heap. And second highest average is Mark Reynolds.

Agreed completely. Conforto is overmatched right now
He's been horrid. I love the kid and think he's going to be a great hitter but he's not above being sent down for a couple weeks. See what Nimmo can do. Swap them and let BN play LF every day for a bit. We can't keep giving away all these outs. Conforto needs to work his way out of this in Vegas.
