He is a guy you you love to root for. Plays hard. Gives it all. Trys to stay in ABs. He will very likely return to earth given his tats at AAA. But that's why you give guys an opportunity: you never know when a guy can come up, get hot , and give the team a boost. Sort of the "Benny Agbayani Factor"

Sounds like there is some friction between Terry and the FO. Calling Jay a "puppy dog" insinuates that he is the stooge of the higher ups. I mean obviously Jay did not decide on his own to let the world know about Noah. For some reason, they wanted Collins to make the announcement--maybe to make him seem like he was in command? Hard to say.

But I don't think this is just Terry being an asshole to Jay. I'm no fan of Terry as a strategist but he has been here six years and by all accounts is a nice guy. So, there must be some underlying tension. Could it be over Reyes? Terry made it pretty clear he would welcome Jose's return with all his comments about how much he loved Jose's presence. Maybe the FO does not want to sign Jose. Obviously that is speculation on my part but definitely seems like something is going on.

I think he offers league average offense upside (meh) but he's an emotional guy and maybe he sparks this lifeless lineup. He costs nothing. Count me in on thinking we need "more" leading up to the deadline. Gurriel seems like a nice gamble on paper but maybe he looks like shit at his showcase? With Wright out for sure and Duda not coming back for months we need another bat in the middle of the lineup. Can't depend on Conforto anymore either.

Nice thing about Grandy is he'll be fine anywhere in the lineup. Batting him leadoff was the one place that seemed like a big questionmark.

Move would be moving Walker to 1B (fully aware it hasn't been discussed). Get Loney's bat out of the lineup and get Herrera AND and Reyes in there.

They won't do it though. They LOVE the chemistry in the middle. Seems like they are extremely hesitant to even move Walker to 3B. A position he has hundreds of professional games at (minors included). I also suspect they have an eye on that extra year of Herrera control (August).

who liked Reyes better than Wright. I respect DW but I always felt Reyes was the more dynamic talent.

I was against bringing him back, then I came around to the idea, and now I'm back to being "somewhat" against it.

There really is not alot to lose but I just don't see how Reyes helps this current team all that much. He's not a fit position wise. So far, Cabrera has been one of the brighter spot on the team and he's been terrific defensively.

What we need is for Conforto and TDA to stay healthy and hit. These are young guys we had penciled in. We need production from them badly.
