Apparently they are offering Young to the highest bidder. Must want to free up PF minutes for McCullough. Hopefully they can get a promising backcourt prospect for him. Glaring holes there.
are going to want 3 pt shooting at the 4. If they could move Thad, get a pick and take back less salary they could sign a player like Ryan Anderson and accomplish their goals.
Phoenix is an interesting trade partner. They could use a PF and the nets could use a PG. They have two.
i think he is a good NBA player but hes not part of a rebuild- hes a 6mth man on a good team.
His salary makes him attractive to other teams as well.
They apparently have 1 prospect they love but nobody has a clue who it is- if hes traded for a pick.
they should also be able to move Jack if would think- for some sort of asset given he can be bought out cheap no?

That's exciting since Marks is our guy now and I hope we get to find out who it is either way.
The tough part about moving Thad is his salary is justifiable and is by far the 2nd best player on the team.
If George Hill can get the 12th pick I think we can get a similar pick.
I think Phoenix is a good trade partner for us. They have the 4th and 13th pick. Perhaps a deal involving the 13th pick and/or Bledsoe/Knight makes sense. They have a gaping hole at PF. We need a PG>

#Pacers get Thad Young from #Nets for No. 20 pick & future 2nd rounder, per Yahoo. Young much better than anyone Indy would get at 20.
in the compensation but we have to remember Marks/Atkinson didnt sign/acquire Thad. Perhaps they have a different vision for what how the team wants to play around Brook.
this michigan kid looks good and the BBI Michigan fan feedback is lottery guy that got hurt.
the Seton Hall kid has value where he was picked i think.
Thad is a solid player but not going to help them rebuild-- so its not bad to move on.
the team is getting younger and more athletic. Free Agency on the PG side should be intriguing, the atkinson/lin connection should lean him towards brooklyn--- though Rondo apparently has interest in the nets as well.
not sure they can attract people outside of the PG position given you are guaranteed to lose for a few years
with McCullough at PF, Hollis-Jefferson at SF, Levert at SG and Whitehead at PG. Lopez the holdover at C. Will be interesting what free agents they can attract with all their cap space.

Yeah I think this is all pretty much spot on. I expect Lin and maybe a wing like Bazemore. I do think last night's trade of Thad Young may mean they have a PF on their radar, because they certainly didn't extract a ton of value in terms of the return on the deal. Seemingly would have been very doable to get a non-lotto pick for Thad at the deadline if they chose, so makes me think they were opening up the spot and the cap room to do some FA maneuvering (or maybe taking on salary in a trade for someone).

the pacers just got a 12 for george hill--- another guy that is a good 6th man on a good team.
very odd
Boston already has the option to swap picks next yr if we want...

Agreed, perhaps a salary dump to raise the room under the cap in addition to adding a draft pick.
I'm willing to let things play out.
Prob could have if they were willing to take salary back

hoping a PG, a back up C, and a 4 that can shoot, are on the docket for free agency.
im pretty confident they get lin, not that he is the holy grail.
