Lottery talent with injury concerns.
Had foot surgeries
LawrenceTaylor56 : 6/23/2016 9:57 pm : link
Thing is that his surgery was performed by Nets doctor Martin O'Malley. Same guy who did Lopez's second foot surgery, which has held up for two years now. He also did Durant's foot surgery.
Thank you

Great trade by OKC
giantsfan44ab : 6/23/2016 10:04 pm : link
Ibaka in the entire playoffs looked like Kevin love during the Warriors series. He got eaten alive by Aldridge. They were better off with kanter and Adams for the series against the Spurs and Ibaka wasn't a big enough threat from range against GS to warrant him the starting job. At least Ilyasova can be a consistent deep range threat. Oladipo also gives them better shooting and playmaking over Roberson. Plus they can't hide curry on Oladipo. There's now 3 PnR threats on OKC that can attack curry just like the Cavs did.

if he didnt get hurt this year, he may have been top 10. He really fills up the boxscore and can shoot it from deep. can play the 1/2.

Think the celts blew the draft. I don't think they went BPA. They drafted international players because they don't have spots to roster them this year and there was not a good enough player they could get by trading all of them.

Going 2nd round might be a blessing in disguise for money. He'll get his first real contract in 2 years as opposed to 4. The TV deal cap structure didn't translate for the rookie scale. So even if Davis is a mediocre backup he could be looking at a $40M deal at the minimum

Perhaps. But he's already expendable after his first year in a weak draft class. He's gotta play into the team first and not get knocked out the box in the meantime.

Could have stayed in "school" and elevated to a Top 8 or better.

Silliness. Churn and burn by these teams with minimal investment.

Oh, here's your hat. No wait. You got traded. Gimme that shit.

His time may come sooner than you think. If Conley dips they may be in the market for trading Zbo and Gasol.

There's really no incentives to stay in school. You get knocked for not being as young as possible. Not saying he shouldn't have faith in himself but entering as a freshman gives you the allure of a young player which boosts your stock.

You were right. Financial consideration? WTF are the Bucks helping out GS? Are they in need of some quick cash? Damn GS get a two way guard to back up another two way guard for cash.

I was hoping Phil try to get him. I love this kid. Not the athlete like Nate but the same high energy & pure scorer.
no Knick pick I guess - per Begley @ ESPN:
Del Shofner : 6/24/2016 12:28 am : link
"The Knicks elected not to buy a second-round pick. It seems like there are plenty of talented players that went undrafted -- including Gary Payton II, Dorian Finney-Smith, Yogi Ferrell and Troy Williams -- so the Knicks can sign these players as undrafted free agents without having to spend more than $2 million on the pick. Still, the Knicks have only five players under contract, so they'll have plenty of rosters spots to fill in the coming weeks."

from the Wichita paper on Baker, who is 6'4" and 220:
Del Shofner : 6/24/2016 12:39 am : link
Baker knows he is a possible second-round pick. Thats a wide range and Thursday could end with him drafted or not, and it might not matter much to his NBA future. Regardless of how he gets there, his summer will almost certainly include a trip to one or more of the NBAs summer leagues and, perhaps, an invitation to an NBA training camp. By the early fall, his future in the NBA, overseas or in the NBA Development League should become clear.

There are scenarios in which he is better off drafted proof a team sees a fit for his talents and scenarios where he is better off overlooked on Thursday, allowing him to choose his team. A team could draft him in the second round and ask him to play a year overseas. Baker will watch Thursdays draft in Kansas City with his family.

You want to make sure you put yourself in the best fit for you, Baker said. Everybodys got their own route as far as making it to the NBA. Sometimes, unfortunately, its not going straight from college to the NBA.

Baker said he feels good about his workouts, particularly in Dallas (pick No. 46) and Detroit (No. 49) and two with Milwaukee (the Bucks own picks No. 36 and No. 38). The hectic pace of travel and workouts allowed him to showcase his fitness level. He said he believes he showcased his defensive abilities and smarts in the workouts and the NBA Combine in Chicago in May.

I definitely felt like I was in better shape than most kids, he said. Most of these workouts are in 3-on-3 settings, so being a vocal defensive player and knowing positioning on the court is very important.

Neither NBADraft.net nor DraftExpress lists Baker in their mock drafts. Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com slots him No. 56 to Denver. Sam Vecenie of CBSSports.com compares him to former Kansas star Kirk Hinrich, who finished his 13th NBA season with Atlanta.

When you think of Ron in college, you think of him a lot as a (shooting guard), next to Fred VanVleet, Vecenie said. In the NBA, I kind of see him a little bit more as a defensive-minded (point guard) who can really shoot the ball, who can move the ball well and maybe play next to a more dominant, ball-handling (shooting guard). Hes a great, long, rangy defender.

Still has the potential to be a murderer. A taker of souls. Really excited to see him next in the backcourt next to the most energetic player of skill time and a legendary scorer. OKC vs Cleveland.

It's all about Durant. LeBron did everything he ever needed to do. It's all bout KD now. Steph is all about the playoffs too, no one will care when he misses too many games to three peat as MVP. OKC vs GS, can't fucking wait. Unless Kawhi hits yet another level
