Andrew Church? I mean it would be nice to see more k's but he was recently promoted so the performance is impressive as it is. He will have to improve upon 20.2 innings 12 k's to really be on the radar for me. 8 walks 12 k's obviously isn't very good.
Very very very few pitchers learn to miss bats as they age though. A low K rate in the minors almost always leads to a pitcher not making it in the bigs. Where as walk rate, there are tons of extremely successful pro pitchers who have overcome that.

Agreed with every word. I'll take the arm who misses bats but also misses the plate vs. the guy who has better command but doesn't miss bats. There will always be guys who get by on command etc but generally if you can't miss bats in the minors (low minors in fact) you aren't going to make it.
Maybe I misunderstand the question, but "A+" in the original post refers to high A ball, not an evaluation of performance.

A+ pitching. Are we more encouraged with low BB or high Ks?

Ah sorry. I wasn't clear what the question was either. St. Lucie is in the FSL which is considered A+ level, rookie, short season A, full season A, A+, AA, AAA
Lol. True.
They generally NEVER move players off of SS at the lower levels unless they are absolutely awful. Wilmer was there even at his plumpest. Hernandez must have looked pathetic over there.
Anthony Dirocie - RF
Kenny Hernandez - 3B
Kenneth Bautista - DH
Wagner Lagrange - LF
Juan Uriarte - C
Luis Montero - 1B
Rigoberto Terrazas -SS
Oliver Pascual - 2B
Aneury Olivo on the mound for his stateside debut.
Sucks but probably true.

Gonzalez has a feel for pitching and a solid CH. Needs to sustain results later in games and improve from the stretch. Has some promise.
