NFT: Game of Thrones S6E10 "Winds of Winter" *SPOILERS WELCOME*

Big Blue Blogger : 6/24/2016 12:55 pm
This is the weekly free-for-all thread. As usual, the only constraint is not to post information from advance viewing of the actual episode. So, if you received a DVD from your cousin at HBO that shows Cersei Lannister napalming the Great Sept of Baelor, please keep it to yourself. Anything else is fair game.

Official HBO synopsis:
Quote:
Cersei faces her trial.

Link to official photos is below, courtesy of Watchers on the Wall.

Predictions:
1. Loras swears off the big D.
2. So does Daenerys (for now).
3. Frey pies! Frey smoothies! Freyburgers! Frey Fries!
4. Monkfries: Cersei chooses more violence... much more... maybe more than she intended.
5. T.o.J.: R + L = J + x. Solve for x.

Week 9 Death Pool Winners: Ramsay Bolton, Rickon Stark, Smalljon Umber, Wun Weg Wun Dar Dun, Free Folk, Northmen, Yunkish and Astapori slavers (and their crewmen, most of whom were likely slaves - oops), Sons of the Harpy. Status of Harald Karstark and the Harpy herself still TBD.

Death Pool Opening Favorites for Week 10 - bloodbath expected:
Lyanna Stark (vision) 1-10
High Sparrow 1-2
Septa Unella 1-2
Lancel Lannister and anonymous FM devotees 1-2
Walder Frey, his heirs and successors 1-2
Loras Tyrell 1-1
Grand Maester Pycelle 1-1
Kevan Lannister 3-2
Tommen Baratheon 2-1
Melisandre of Assha'i 2-1
Margaery Tyrell 4-1
Euron Greyjoy 8-1
Davos Seaworth 10-1
Jon might also need to behead Harald Karstark, if the little weasel is still alive. Or maybe Jon and Sansa start rebuilding the Northern Alliance by pardoning Karstark. Somebody has to defend Karhold in the War to Come.

Maybe not pie, but they're showing the Freys celebrating this episode. Why bother unless there's more to that story. Maybe the BoB is actually several thousand strong or they take the dozen guys we've seen and infiltrate the Twins like ninjas.
Chris: Jaime's next destination is the Twins.
Big Blue Blogger : 6/24/2016 1:06 pm : link

Seems weird, considering his hurry to get back to Cersei, but there it is. Keep in mind that the Frey Brothers didn't take Riverrun; Jaime did. That leaves a potential dispute between two families who were bound only by their anger at the Starks and their alliances of convenience with Roose Bolton.

Bronn seems to have a few thoughts on the situation too.

Are we expecting
Kyle in NY : 6/24/2016 1:21 pm : link
the conclusion of the tower of joy vision this week? That'd be a nice season finale event

Kyle in NY : 6/24/2016 1:22 pm : link
Based on the death pool odds it would seem so, nice.

What's interesting about the photos you posted is in photo 2, Bronn is standing in the exact place where Walder Frey was sitting in photo 1. Walder doesn't move around all that much on his own....
The ninja in the house isn't Beric or Thoros or the Hound.

If there's a ninja en route to the Twins, it might just be a pissed-off, faceless assassin capable of disguising herself as a Frey and summoning a small army of hungry wolves. I wonder if Arya's next face might belong to Walder's young wife. That would explain why they showed the poor girl a few episodes back. It could also account for Maisie Williams's remark that she was in the Season 6 preview more than most viewers probably realized.

1. is this real? and 2, what the fuck (if it is)?
I think the Freys live until next season
weeg in the bronx : 6/24/2016 1:38 pm : link
Ayra has to kill some of the people on her list and walder is on it. Same with Cersai so I think she lives. My money is on Tommen. Davos wacks the red witch too.
Is the hell horn

There is no way Jon will allow

Melisandre to be harmed by Davos or anyone else. He may send her away for it.

no. It can control dragons, however.
Cersei us going to burn the mall!
Andy in Halifax : 6/24/2016 1:45 pm : link
Or something like that... Can't wait!

I'd like to see Cersei as a main villain moving forward. I joke about her losing her shit but I hope any act of desperation we may see in the finale (assuming she wins as I suspect) isn't a rapid decent into madness. Desperate Cersei is a dangerous Cersei. A mad Cersei is a boring Cersei.
Damn, didn't notice those spoilers
Andy in Halifax : 6/24/2016 1:48 pm : link
I hope that's not true and I thought our rules were that book talk was cool but show spoilers were a no-no??

Man, that would be the ultimate teleport. The series could be over in 3 or 4 more episodes if Arya pulls that off sunday.
If those are real spoilers...

It's been made abundantly clear that it means books spoilers...
Closing scene:
widmerseyebrow : 6/24/2016 1:51 pm : link
Slow zoom out of Dany's fleet sailing the ocean with the Dragons soaring above.
Considerable time has elapsed between the last time we saw Arya

and after the battle of the bastards. Plenty of time for her to get on a boat and sail across the narrow sea and make her way to the Twins.

Frey Pies would be fucking epic!
Andy in Halifax : 6/24/2016 1:57 pm : link
I hope that B Cubed prediction comes true, and then Arya slices off Walders head with needle. Pretty please?
Will the cliffhanger be a scene back at the Tower of Joy,
TheBigBlueOne : 6/24/2016 2:01 pm : link
where we see a young Ned use Ser Arthur Dayne's sword, Dawn, to give a c-section to his dying sister, Lyanna, thereby performing this baby's birth under a bleeding star? And the last line uttered will be, "I will name him Jon." End credits!
Widmerseyebrow: No need for Arya to teleport.

Not sure I follow you there. It's only about a week's journey by boat from Braavos to the Twins. Arya is either traveling alone, or with the theater troupe (which seems more likely, as a means of infiltrating a castle on the day of a celebration). She can get there in roughly the time it will take the Lannister and Frey armies to secure their prisoners, garrison the castle, reprovision, break camp and travel east on the River Road then north on the Kingsroad to the Twins.
Isn't Shadow the guy who started off
widmerseyebrow : 6/24/2016 2:05 pm : link
claiming to be a vet and telling people they owed him for his service to our country? If that's the guy, I thought he was headed for ban land quickly until reeled his character in.
Those are my guesses
Shadow : 6/24/2016 2:05 pm : link
My spoilers that would catch the book up to the series and where the hints are going
I still say Cersei decides to ignite the wildfire in the Sept
Ben in Tampa : 6/24/2016 2:12 pm : link
But Jamie, torn by his love of Cersei but overcome with Knight's honor, Queenslayers her and comes full circle.
I think the closing scene
Pete in 'Vliet : 6/24/2016 2:12 pm : link
will end up being the Walkers approaching the wall. Maybe they destroy it through magic, or just stare at it till end credits. But, I think the season ends with a very strong visualization that "Winter is Here"

I think that last part happens next season. If Cersie does do what everyone thinks she is going to do. I think she escapes Kingslanding and runs into Jamie. When he learns what she did, he strangles her to complete the witches prophesy.
I think Cersei
UConn4523 : 6/24/2016 2:35 pm : link
survives this season. There needs to be a current villain for next season and a Cersei that just burned down the capital of the realm will open up a lot of scenarios. If Jamie is in fact the person who ends up killing her (I think so) it would make sense for that to happen next season and not rush that right now.
I keep hoping that certain book elements will turn up.
Big Blue Blogger : 6/24/2016 2:37 pm : link
It usually doesn't happen. The latest example is Nymeria's wolfpack. Arya's return to the Twins would be the perfect time to bring them in: while Arya avenges Robb and Catelyn, Nym avenges Grey Wind - and indirectly, Lady, Summer and Shaggydog. Plus, canines tearing out throats has been a recurring theme lately. I won't get my hopes up, though. Nymeria might be just another loose end that the show never bothers to tie up.

Speaking of the Stark direwolves, interesting insight from the director of E9: within the available CGI budget, the battle for Winterfell could feature either Ghost or the giant, but not both. Wun Wun won.
BBB
UConn4523 : 6/24/2016 2:41 pm : link
I read that as well about the episode 9 budget. Its a shame, watching Ghost tear shit up would have been awesome, but we needed Wun Wun as well. I wish the Vinyl cancellation came earlier and they stole the budget that way, haha.
I'm pretty interested by what happens in the North
moespree : 6/24/2016 2:41 pm : link
Littlefinger could take out Jon if he wanted. He's got mounted Vale knights at his disposal and Jon's army has been crushed, is beaten and tired. It'd be little contest. So where does Sansa fall into that? I assume she would not be okay with this happening, but it's just an assumption. I don't know where her character is headed. I do know with Arya reemerging in Westeros it would lead to a sister clash in season 7. Arya would go apeshit if LF and/or Sansa tried to harm Jon. I'm not convinced Sansa would willingly harm Jon. Though, LF would.

1. There's no way you read anything but internet forums.

2. You copied the spoilers from a guy on reddit who has seen the show or is a part of making it.
