[Spoiler Alert] For those who are not caught up with "Archer", read no further.

For those caught up, you know that Sterling Archer was laying dead face down in a swimming pool after taking 3 shots to the chest. By the time they found his body, it had been in that position for a couple of hours.

So the internet was abuzz about why they would kill off their star. Come to find out, the show had not been renewed for next season so the producers decided to kill Sterling in the event that no deal would be made in the future and that would be how the 7th season ended.

Well - they made a deal for 3 more seasons of "Archer", so somehow, they will be finding a creative way to bring him back from the dead. Either that, or he has a twin brother that no one ever heard of. Regardless, there will be a season 8, 9, and 10.

Good info, mav

Thanks for posting.

Wouldn't surprise me to see this play out as a booze-fueled dream/nightmare from Archer, or Mallory.

Good thought. I guess there clearly had to be more than 1. Krieger had 2 of his own that we saw, right?

Reminds me of any old detective satire of the past called Sledgehammer. See entry from Wikopedia:

"Because ABC intended to cancel the series, the last episode of the first season ends with Hammer accidentally destroying the city when he attempts to disarm a stolen nuclear warhead; just before the explosion Hammer embarks on his infamous catchphrase "Trust Me.....". The last scene shows the Beneath the Planet of the Apes-style ruins of the city with Trunk's voice screaming "HAMMMMMMMER!", and a graphic flashed:

"To Be Continued... Next Season?"

However, this episode got much better than expected ratings, in large part because the network had moved the show to a better time slot. ABC changed its mind and renewed the show for a second season.

The second season premiere perfunctorily explained that it and following episodes were set "five years before" the explosion, though Doreau is Sledge's partner in the second season, despite being introduced to him in the pilot, and despite the presence of references to contemporary events, rather than those of five years earlier."

Good call - I bet you are exactly right. Even looks like Sterling. And I'm sure that Kreiger had made more than one Archer-bot and what better way to take them to the meet up than as the driver to flush out the killer.

Of course, when one of the bots get shot, they short out and don't bleed. So now I have to rethink everything
