-Mets start a very tough stretch.. Nats, Cubs, and Marlins incoming
-Syndergaard VS Joe Ross
-Reyes went 0-3, Piazza wished him the best with Mets
-Strasburg to DL. Minor leaguer expected to be called up for Tuesday's game
-Gio has been AWFUL his last 8 games
-Rendon still slumping, 19-86 since May 30th
-Familia 25 for 25
-All eyes on Syndergaard's "discomfort"
4 stolen bases! He's got to do better than that, much fucking better!
Because he was off from the first pitch of the inning
Embarrassing. Letting a team run on you like this
Syndergaard has allowed 28 steals this season; five tonight. No other pitcher has allowed more than 14
Cabrera is a fucking statue. Pigeons are going to start landing on him.
This is pure garbage!
But he's great at framing pitches...YEAH!!

He really is terrific at framing pitches, isn't he? He'll always be a liability behind the plate and standing at the plate, well, I'm not sure we're going to see much from him there either.
As bad a defensive catcher as he is our pitchers aren't helping. Thor was supposed to throw a fastball off the plate to Zimmerman in the 3rd with 2 strikes and he missed by two feet to the inside ...fortunately beat him for the K. The location on most of the 2 strike counts are so hittable it's not even funny.

called by TdA...right in Werths wheelhouse. Fuck this guy.

No doubt, I agree. But TdA is so bad. I've always said that one of their biggest mistakes was not getting a veteran catcher to man this young pitching staff. It's almost like TdA has no idea where the weak spots are of the hitters or how to waste pitches when his pitchers are up in the count.
During that time , the team had one big problem: a catcher who could not throw anybody out. Instead of fixing that problem, you go and "fix" a bunch of things that were not broken.
Sorry but Cabrera is not an upgrade over Flores/ Tejada.
Walker is a huge downgrade from Murphy.
De Aza and Bastado? The less said, the better.
Why did they make all these changes to a team that was already great and filled with youth by adding a bunch of "meh" veterans. I know I get on Sandy too much and that annoys some of you. But really why would just not bring back that team from last year? Flores hit 16 HR and finally was starting to crank and now he is bench player so that you can add the Venus de Milo?
The Walker-Murphy move was kind of nifty because presumably you get two picks, assuming Walker does not accept arbitration. But when you have a team filled with young studs, you should be thinking about winning now. You should not be weakening the team in 2016 so you will be stronger in 2022 IMO.
Just my opinion and I know not everyone will agree, but it is really a tragedy what they did to this team. Right now, I just want to see the young guys. I have seen enough of Walker, Cabrera and the other lifeless automatons. I have seen enough pulling the ball into the shift. I have seen enough runners left in scoring position. I have seen enough statues playing infield. Lets get Herrera up here. Let Nimmo play. If Cecch can overcome the yips, let's get him up here. Inoa or Edgin and maybe Smoker in the pen. Give them an opportunity. Cuz what you got ain't getting it done.
Hope Jose was not watching tonight because he might have second thoughts.
The catching situation wasn't ideal but they had/have a young potential good hitter at the position so they weren't going to give up on that yet.
I thought they should have added more speed, but they have a flawed approach that speed (stolen bases, hit and run) isn't important. Which is weird after watching the Royals beat us in the WS with a lot of help from speed.
At the end, injuries have really hurt us...but those injured players really weren't producing anyway so I don't know how much better we would have fared if they didn't get hurt.
The rotation is identical. The pen is nearly identical (Reed is better than Clippard) If we really wanted Gilmartin back over Bastardo we could make that switch. Gilmartin got shredded tonight btw. Blevins at least is healthy this year. Robles? Verrett?
Flores is still on the team. Clearly the organization feels Cabrera is better and I find it hard to believe he's not. So who else is different? Its the Mets fault Duda and Wright are out? We really think Kirk would be SO much better than De Aza as the resident bench sitter/5th OF guy? TDA was here last year and one of the biggest reasons we got so hot in August. Conforto was a part of that too. Makes no sense to me. None.
The difference is one guy. Neil Walker over Murphy. That's the difference.
Syndergaard claims no bone spur. Multiple sources say he has one.
Terry when asked if Noah has a bone spur: I dont really know what his is, but like I said his is fine, it flares up and so.
This team is pathetic.
This team is pathetic.
Sounds like another NY team we all know and love.
This seasons Mets are the Nats of 2015. Injuries, subpar play and soon to be irrelevant if they don't right the ship.
These teams have all done themselves a disservice by treating pitchers like china dolls. The facts of the baseball season are that everyone has aches and pains and you have to learn to play through unless its truly a structural injury.
Ron Darling said it, the value used to be in pitching every 5th day. Now is pitching perfectly. And pitched over 240 innings once with bone spurs, once with bone chips.
