-Mets start a very tough stretch.. Nats, Cubs, and Marlins incoming
-Syndergaard VS Joe Ross
-Reyes went 0-3, Piazza wished him the best with Mets
-Strasburg to DL. Minor leaguer expected to be called up for Tuesday's game
-Gio has been AWFUL his last 8 games
-Rendon still slumping, 19-86 since May 30th
-Familia 25 for 25
-All eyes on Syndergaard's "discomfort"
Two ways to look at this week's series. One is the NL East-leading Nats versus Wild Card-leading #Mets. Two is a pair of teams in freefall.
?
Didn't the Mets win like 9 games in a row?

Without question. A game winning hit or two, for sure...
Everything went right for the Nationals up until now. They haven't had a single bump in the road till this month. It wasn't going to continue.
Lucas Giolito will start for the Nats tomorrow
Granderson RF
Cabrera SS
Cespedes CF
Walker 2B
Loney 1B
Flores 3B
Nimmo LF
d'Arnaud C
Syndergaard P
Mets, I believe, are 3-0 in games started by debuting pitchers. Beat Aaron Blair, and Julio Urias and Jameson Taillon had no-decisions.
The #Mets did work out Yulieski Gurriel today. Gurriel posted Instagram pictures of himself in team gear at the club's Florida complex.
matz just arrived and terry found him and both just went into his office maybe it is nothing but will keep.you posted

There is no structural damage for Matz.

Plans seems to be Reyes to Binghamton tomorrow.
Binghamton is playing in Altoona
Gilmartin and Verrett would be the main options if Matz can't go Wednesday.
TC acknowledged that the team will likely have to monitor Matz and Syndergaard all season because of their arm issues.
Jose worked with Fonzie at 3b and also took grounders at 2B in PreGame with Cyclones
Dunn will pitch Friday or Saturday for Cyclones I am told
Alderson will be here in DC tomorrow. Will be part of the meeting to decide how to move forward with Matz.

Matz says he's been told rest won't knock out the discomfort.
Three #Mets sources tell me Matz has a bone spur in elbow.
Juan Lagares will begin a Minor League rehab assignment tomorrow in Binghamton. He'll be a teammate there of Jose Reyes.
Steven Matz's elbow discomfort is coming from a bone spur. The #Mets do believe he can pitch through it without risk of damage.
Believe it would be 6 weeks before he began throwing.

Ricco told me it is possible to gauge a players ability from one workout. They think there will be competition for his
Ricco said Gourriel is essentially in the process of building his market with the workouts. His agent has yet to request formal offers.
And seems Mets are not in on Yunel Escobar at this point.
Some quick hits: Mets not at the point with De Aza where they're looking to part ways. And teams aren't inquiring on him.

So what's come out today so far.
Mets have no big traded lined up.
Rosario is considered untouchable.
Mets not in on little trades like Escobar.
Z - see why I didn't agree the other night?

Yeah. I dont even know which parts you were disagreeing with. This guy is 100% legit IMO and has connections just like you do. He never said the Mets were on the verge of making a trade or anything like that. He did mention that they have an eye on a large target and are familiar with what the parameters of a deal would look like. I felt like sharing only because most people assumed we were only exploring Reyes, Gurriel, ect. Its all good. No biggie. I think from now on Ill just keep it to myself. I pretty much always preface it with being clear asshat, ect.

I don't see an issue with sharing stuff that you hear. Makes for fun conversation if nothing else.
I assume he was alluding to trading Rosario when you mentioned big target but not giving up pitching. Seemed obvious what implication was to me.
Having an idea about what it would take to land a big target? You never know TRUE asking price of a player unless you have serious negotiations. And sandy wouldn't have serious negotiations without being ready to pull the trigger - he'd view it as dirty to holds real talks with no intentions to act for a month or two. Lastly, trade demands fluctuate like the stock market the next 6-8 weeks.
If there's good news re: Matz, it is that the bone spur is not in area that threatens ligament, per source.

Also in the camp of share what info you get passed. Worst case scenario it doesn't come to fruition and it spurs some good back and forth
BTW, I checked with my friends and family today and most, not all, said I was definitely not a douchebag. You're in the minority.
