NFT: Mac Browser Question/MacBook Video Issue

GruningsOnTheHill : 6/27/2016 8:36 pm
Gentlemen--

Computer idiot here.

Brand new MacBook Pro, and the video quality is so choppy on MLB.com that I cannot even watch the games. Called into Apple support, and the guy had me reinstall the software.

"Once the software finishes reinstalling, your problems will be over. Thank you for calling Apple support. Goodbye."

When the software finished reinstalling, the choppy video quality--as if it's 4 or 5 frames per second--was equally crappy as before.

The IT guy at my work suggested I try the FireFox browser instead of Safari; I downloaded it, and the quality is perfectly smooth/fluid with none of the aforementioned issues.

Is the Safari browser not compatible with MLB.com? Does anyone have a suggestion as to what's going on?

Thank you in advance for any advice or comments.

Is Java installed?

Apple doesn't pre-install Java, so you may need to download it. Other than that, use Chrome.
Not all browsers are the same.
