I'm intrigued. I think Luke Wilson is cast badly, but I can get used to him

I plan on giving it a shot. The problem is, reviews for the first three episodes were so-so.

I'm still a bit ticked off that Showtime cancelled Penny Dreadful. That show was great!
Looking forward to checking it out

Peter Cambor is the brother in law of one of my pals (a former colleague).
Ugh...

I thought the first episode was very disappointing. Too bad because Cameron Crowe has done some terrific movies and this show seemed to be right in his wheelhouse.

I read some other reviews of the series - the reviewers get to see at least the first three episodes - and most said they thought the show was okay but not great. I guess this means that the show gets better in the next couple episodes because I would put the first episode firmly in the "not good" category.

Really?

I dunno, it didn't blow me away, but I didn't hate it either. I'm hoping it will get better. Also the tunes were kinda cool.

I guess it's all relative...I was looking for show premiering this summer. I found Roadies and American Gothic. I was really excited for American Gothic when I read about it (no reviews). I could barely get through the 1st 3 or 4 scenes. By the time I was 10 minutes in, I simply couldn't take it any longer....the acting was so bad...like 1980's "B" movie bad, like porno bad. So I guess Roadies shined a little in comparison....haha

Was Penny Dreadful cancelled? They were making it seem like they finished telling the story. although I'm sure that show was expensive to make.
