-Verrett the stopper? Verrett VS Sherzer (lol)
-Matz pushed back a day
-Harvey felt great last night
-Sandy says waiting on Gurriel to spend a month in the minors might not make sense
-Reyes 0-9 in the minors
-Duda 2 weeks from baseball activity (If he starts baseball activities in two weeks that will be WAY sooner than I expected. Good news)
-Rock bottom for Mets right now??
Hopefully they will be within striking distance of the WC 2 spot by september.
Marlins and Cardinals are looking like better teams right now

Just felt like quoting.

Yes you guys have a pesky lineup, something the Mets is lacking. The rebuild shouldnt take long at all

Yes the rebuild is in it's infancy but Saturday will be worth the suffering when Kevin Maitan signs on the dotted line.
I find it interesting that he mentions he won't be ready soon enough. Rather than mentioning fact they have a 3B already signed long term...
Lineup
DeAza RF
Walker 2B
Cespedes CF
Loney 1B
Cabrera SS
Johnson 3B
Nimmo LF
Rivera C
Verrett
Collins is switching the batting order a bit, which is a much needed change in this struggling offense

Over the last couple days. Gurriel came up. He said he might not make sense because of the length he'd have to play in the minors. I'm on work vacation. Can't give the actual quotes at the moment.

I take this to mean that DW isn't someone they're counting on again anytime soon and that they're looking to upgrade 3B?
The players are falling apart..
We kinda need a productive Conforto back asap

Juan Lagares went 1-for-4 with a strikeout and a run scored for Double-A Binghamton in the first game of his rehab assignment. He logged seven innings in center field. Lagares is trying to demonstrate he can play through a partially torn ligament in his left thumb and can avoid in-season surgery.
Said last night, 10 - 12 out by the All-Star break and it's nearly impossible to make an argue against it.
It would have to be a mistake by Scherzer that ends up in the seats.
Maybe we will be healthier for the Nats home series before the break. And Jose Reyes will be a spark plug again for us.

Should've gotten Flores up instead. Whats Collins thinking?
That was the game.
even Travis Taijeron in AAA might be a better option. I miss Darrell Ceciliani lol
he has a lower BA than 2015 John Mayberry and 2016 Eric Campbell.
He might be the worst position player in mlb. I am a Sandy fan, but holy shit, if de Aza was "the plan" or even a major part of it as a platoon with Lagares if they didn't sign Cespedes the Mets would be sellers already for 2017.
What is his WAR now? -10?
Alejandro De Aza's OPS, .440, is the second lowest of any player with 100+ PAs this year. The only one lower, Daniel Castro, got sent down.
