NFT: So do the Summer Olympics happen?

montanagiant : 6/29/2016 11:20 am
This is shaping up to be a disaster of an olympics. The biggest reason is a political mess there with the President impeached in May and her temporary replacement, Michel Temer is under investigation for a separate scandal. This has eliminated any kind of help coming from Brazil itself for the Rio games (which are the responsibility of the Rio the state)

Unsafe water in the area designated for offshore games with drug resistant super bacteria usually found in medical waste.

Crime and murder rate that is horrendous (Swedish sailing coach had to hide in a boat he was fueling while a running gun battle between police and drug cartel members happened all around him).

Rio's Mayor issues an executive order for more emergency funding because """severe difficulties in the provision of essential public services and can even cause a total breakdown in public security, health, education, mobility and environmental management,""". Problem with this is that no one knows where the money will come from.

Police and Fireman claiming they may not be able to respond crimes due to lack of money for fuel and funds.
Acting Gov even went so far as declaring:
""""Dornelles said that without the bailout money, the state could only afford to cover the expenses of the police force for a few more days.
"The police fleet runs the risk of stopping. We managed to stretch the finances and we'll only last until the end of the week," Dornelles said.""

Zika Virus

A bunch of venues and living qtrs that will not be ready for use.

Doping Scandal involving Brazil only testing lab.

A transportation mess that was supposed to have been greatly improved a year ago, and yet has had hardly anything done to it.

This is turning out to be a scandal that could change completely how Olympic sites are chosen in the future

Speaking of mosquitos
B in ALB : 6/29/2016 7:38 pm : link
a buddy of mine is traveling throughout the Congo, Kenya and Uganda this week and the housekeeper at his hotel in Kinshasa left the window open to his room all day. He gets in after a long day of driving, border patrols, work, heat, etc and is completely inundated with huge African continent mosquitos all over everything. Nice.

Read my previous post - you are wrong. I am here, we that live here don't feel threatened at all - actually the topic in my family has not come up for about 3 months.

Nothing reported on the news.

No no no...Kulish is correct. As always. You just, you know, LIVE there. Hahaha, Cumdish is a schmuck.

Cumdish. Bravo. It's amazing someone who has as little intelligence as you do can come up with such an 8th grade insult. Your parents must be so proud. Were you wearing your helmet when you posted this? Don't want you to get hurt now.

It's not nearly as good as you calling me Cumhatch. That is TOTALLY next level.

Lmao, you suck so bad and you don't even know it.

And you'll have record attendance, no problems and great ratings.

Sending it to a 3rd world country, you get this.

Except LA has its own problems. Like smelling like a massive fart.

It has millions of pounds of methane spewing out of the soil, yet uncapped. One of the biggest disasters in US histroys, and barely any news coverage on it.
