Being that I am a teacher with a 2 year old, I spend my summers basically taking care of her. Well, lot of nutiness going on, and the chores backed up a little, so I decided to take it all on yesterday.
While I was watching my daughter, I did...
6 loads of laundry, including hers.
Dishes
Cleaned up and vaccumed.
Made the bed.
When my wife got home, I continued to...
Cut the grass, weedwack, and pull weeds.
Then made dinner.
After dinner and clean up, it was after 8 or so. My wife came upstairs yelling at me if I had washed her one shirt. I said yes, and she yelled that it wasnt in a gentle cycle. My response....

WHAT THE FUCK IS A GENTLE CYCLE!!!!
Lesson learned. Dont do chores.
You have learned a very important marriage/life lesson, to get out of future chores fuck them up.
I left the red shirt in the white laundry one time. Bingo, no more laundry for me.
I used sink dish soap in the dishwasher causing a massive flood, bingo no more dishwasher for me.
I used the wrong cleaner on the granite counter tops, bingo no more cleaning the counters for me.
it's like clockwork.
right now my home responsibilities are limited to the trash, occasional cooking, fixing shit, painting every few years, and all the outdoor stuff. I can live with that.
I have one in particular who has no opinion whatsoever about anything. It's frustrating AF. And I purposely won't make the decision. Either he make a decision as to where or I'm staying home. It's not to be bitchcy but to get him to make a freakin decision. It's not that he's laid back either. It's a definite lack of confidence and making a choice that may have the other person end up unhappy with him.
it's looking to be polite and not to offend/be contrarian.
I've had both male and female friends do this.
I flat out tell anyone who says I don't care that I am absolutely taking that as gospel. if they bitch afterwards, I say tough shit.
No offense, but the Berrylish approach of intentionally not making a decision just to spite the other person is wrong. it's playing head games. It's just two people saying I don't care and not making a decision. If someone says I don't care, believe them and make the decision. they figure out pretty quick to voice their opinion. if they don't stand up for themselves, it's their problem, not mine. but if they do state an opinion, listen.
