Driving to work this morning, turned on DC sports radio to hear about the Andrew Luck contract. After spending 20 minutes on Luck, they started talking about the floor for the Redskins was 11 wins minimum.
I can understand being optimistic and hoping for a 10+ win season but seems crazy that they think the minimum win total for this team is 11 wins. Especially for a team that didn't beat any other team that had a winning record last year and now plays a first place schedule.
Personally I think they have a good shot to go 0-3. Their first two home games are against the Steelers and Cowboys who will both have a healthy Big Ben and Tony Romo playing. Then in week 3 they travel to play the Giants on the road. They'd be very fortunate to even win one of those 3 games.
Skins fans should learn how to read. Then buy a dictionary. Then learn what the word minimum actually means. Then take that knowledge and try to apply it to print. BUt first they would need to write.
11-5 for the 2016 Redskins is not possible under any circumstance.
NFL teams that have a "fight song" always have the dumbest fans. Not sure why it is but it is.
11 wins for just about any team is really freaking good.

They opened up the phones lines and majority of all the callers agreed with the two hosts, Kevin Sheehan and Chris Cooley. Only guy who didn't was a Steelers fan who called and predicted 7-8 win season, which sounds reasonable.
I guess they are spoiled lately. Two decent years has them drunk with optimism.

Look at us, we are yet to prove that we can consistently win back to back games for a winning season and with the official record. Many seasons now.
We are proclaiming a successful season without our offseason acquisitions with no evidence of winning. We kind of sound like the old offseason champ redskins don't we? Lets play the games and see how the numbers look and find out. Our team has a lot to prove. The skins have improved and likely getting better.
And to set it as a minimum is crazy.
Yep.
Pitt, Cincy, Minny, GB, Car, and AZ look like lock losses unless those teams get hit by injuries.
That's 6 losses right there without touching the division.

Looking at their schedule, you can make a strong case that they'll win 6 or 7 games, tops. Link - ( New Window )

How can you count those as six losses? In no way is that definitive.
Tell me they are going to lose the majority, ok. But all six?

Obviously you have not followed this teams fan base over the years. This is regular occurrence for the media and fans that covers them (mainly because Snyder controls most of the coverage).

This is 100% true. Although there are SOME realistic Skins fans (my wife happens to be one)... I'd say 90% of their fan base would've thought 11 wins as a floor had the team finished in LAST place LAST season. Every team has fans that no matter what reality is telling them their team is going undefeated every year. But when it comes to the Skins? It's almost as if the team has some kind of weird mind control over them and most of them think they're winning it all every year. It's pretty crazy actually.
There's a team that hasn't won a championship in 25 years, and in that span hasn't won over 10 games in a season, with only 8 winning seasons total (compared to the Giants' two Super Bowls and 11 winning seasons in the same timeframe). This team has also crashed after a good season numerous times, without fail. Fans of this team predict the team won't win LESS than 11 games this year even though they didn't beat a team with a winning record last year, and the schedule is much tougher this year. And your takeaway is that Giants fans are being too uppity?
Man, you really *are* a bitter fuck.
So.........they're not winning 11.
They're solid on both lines, have an ham and egger at QB (even if they pretend he's a franchise QB), and have one of the deeper stable of recievers in the league. Some huge questions in their secondary even if they think Josh Norman is prime Deion (he's not). 11 is hyperbole, but I'd say a floor of 7-8 wins for a team like that is reasonable.
Absolutely agree
#31 in injuries Las yr and still win 9?
Damn!
They can beat Pit Monday night opener.
The cincy game, is a road game in london.
Very winnable.
The packers, Carolina and cards games will be tests.
Minny is overrated.
They get Clev, Ravens which they can win.
Then you have the div. Games .
Where it all matters.
Even if they split, they can get to 10 wins.
Most likely, they get 4 wins right there.
Have you guys seen or taken a gander at they're offensive weapons?
Against the def. In this division?
They averaged 30 pts in there last 8 games Last yr.
Jackson was hurt for 6 and reed 3 or 4.
Early on...
Now they added josh doctson and Vernon davis
Not to mention their def is better.
Sue, Norman, fuller...
Redskins may or may NOT win 11?
But they'll win in back-to-back yrs, since its been done in 2004.

Yeah.....so I don't think you understand what the ranking of being 31st in injuries means. It means they were the 2nd LEAST injured team last year.
For context, if the Giants were 31st in that category they would be division Champs and Tom Coughlin would be manning the sidelines in 2016.

You've got it backwards. They were 31st meaning only the Giants had more injuries.
Granted, there is a huge gaping chasm between their injuries and our injuries IIRC.

You're an idiot. Seriously. Just a typical delusional DC fan.
He was a good player...up until 3 years ago.
Uh, that would be the Giants this year.
