defend and rebound, I'm puzzled by the infatuation with Noah. He doesn't offer any offense. Why not Horford then? Not enough money for a max C and starting SG, I suppose. Thoughts?
from the outside looking in it's difficult without knowing what is needed. But not when understanding a complete picture, and Noah gives that to them. Coach knows they will have a offense but need a rim protector that won't cost as much as others would. Ok, new coach new players and a different system and the Knicks need a buy in. Meaning a locker room presence to hold it all together, Noah can provide that.
the type of buy in that Popovich was provided with the with the presence of Robinson and Duncan . And how his authority goes unchallenged till this day. Well Pop is a darn good coach but not the god type that most think. I would take a Rick Carlisle type over him, nobody has done more with less consistently than he has. That's how important a buy in is for a new coach.

Probably because Hortford has no desire to come here. It's gotta be a two way street.

Maybe not. But I'm guessing that the cap hit might have a lot to do with it on the Knicks' end. Gotta get two starters AND a bench with limited dollars compared to many teams.
To what Lopez got with the cap rising. Horford will cost 22 mill minimum which would kill any shot of getting a legit starting 2. The Knicks need two starters to fill out the roster. That means most likely Noah and lee. Batum will price himself out of the Knicks. I'd be very happy with Noah to pair alongside kp for 2 years maybe 3.

Gotta respect him for powering through I guess?
I think he is trying to get all of his meetings done in one day so he can decide quickly and play in the olympics
