its between two teams the Giants and Cowboys. Giants based on veteran signings talent level is at the best its been at for some time. I don't count on rookies at this time of the year. I'm going to give the edge to the Giants
There have been major changes across the entire division. You can make very solid arguments for Skins, Cowboys, or Giants. Philly would be a surprise, but it happens.
That said, I don't think it is going to take very long to know what these teams are made of. Just a hunch, but something tells me we are going to have a pretty damn good idea, one way or another, after week 1 game with Dallas.
The Cowboys. Alot of people on this board have got the rose colored glasses on in full effect. While their defense still needs work (like ours doesnt?), their offense is STACKED and always comes to play against us.
And I know Romo is injury prone. However, you can't make that argument right now. Right now, he is healthy. If he stays that way, they are good for 10 or 11 wins easy, with PROBABLE wins against us. If he goes down for a long period of time, they will struggle, of course.
to say. One thing, barring injuries of course, the Giants defensive will be improved. It couldnt get any worse? Could it?
Dallas and wash you'd figure are the slight favorites if put on spot now to say. Im going to wait and see after preseason and a few games to see. No huge margins between the teams
win the division this year -- based on their defensive woes -- Washington might have the tools to win it again -- the Giants if the team gels, stays intact and has relatively few injuries - has a shot -- but the Jordan Raanan rule of thirds says that is a lot to ask for - If all three are equally weakened then any of the 4 teams could win it
Followed by Redskins with Boys and Eagles bringing up the rear. Regardless of Romo's health, the cowboys are a bad team heading in the wrong direction. The Giants and Skins are ascending. IMHO, the Cowboys are aging and have missed their window of opportunity.
I love the moves Reese made in FA and I think this draft class will contribute early and often.
With respect to defense, we are looking at incremental improvement, and the Giants have done that. The impact of going from DFL to middle-of-the-pack will be dramatic.
Look at the DL the last half of 2015: JPP returned and was disruptive, albeit not his former self. Since that time he has proven to be hungry. He gets better in 2016. Hankins was injured. He's back. Snacks is in the conversation as the best run stuffer in the NFL. Vernon is a major, major upgrade over anything else the Giants trotted out last year.
Eli to ODB has been lethal. I can't wait to sit back and watch those two again this year, particularly with Shepard in the mix. Seriously, we are blessed as a fan base to have this group.
The Cowboys have way too much working against them. Their defense is going to blow hard and Romo isn't going to make it through the season. He just isn't. I really worry about his long-term health.
Am I the only one that thinks the Eagles are a mess? I'm sure their defense will be nasty with Jim Schwartz at the helm, but they are seriously weak at QB and WR and painfully average at RB.
In the end, I see DC as the toughest opponent in the division. They have weapons and their OL is second best in the division. However, I don't think Cousins plays at his second-half-of-2015 level. Look at DC's record and performance against good teams. Look at Cousins when he gets pressure. Everyone was sucking them off entering the playoffs and the Packers absolutely wiped their asses in DC - because they got to Cousins and then they ran over their defense.
Their two big additions on D are Josh Norman and Junior Galette. The locals feel Galette is going to be a monster. I don't know about that. I would have to think an achilles tear is difficult for an edge rusher to come back from year one.
By no means do I think the Giants will run away with the division. It will be a dog fight, but I expect them to prevail.
Not so sure about that. Last year we walked into DAL and handled them week 1 with both squads relatively healthy.
We have gained more talent than they have since then, thats inarguable. So to say they will likely beat us head to head is shorting our GMen imo
I agree with others that the Skins deserve to be preseason faves but i expect us to beat them. But they have a solid GM and coach in place with lots of continuity.

So many it seems are bamboozled by biased favoritism extended to the Cowboys by pundits. This off season the only major addition has been RB Ezekiel Elliot, which to many even on this forum makes the Cowboys a 12 win team and division favorite. I want to point out that this so called best OL in football failures in pass protection were responsible for getting their QB's collarbone broken twice. Yet so many want to claim that even with a sub par D Dallas is the division favorite and beat the Giants twice.
The Eagles are in transition, they may not have enough offense to compete with the rest of the division. Schwartz though is a very capable defensive coordinator.
The Redskins have many offensive weapons and a fair D but the QB is still developing. While they will present a challenge its unlikely they prevail against the Giants.
Fan bias aside, Dallas will find it tough attacking the Giants D as will everyone else. The Giants secondary will reveal soon enough that it is elite, the DL will return to dominance, the LB corps will surprise many of the followers on this forum and the rest of the league.
So many detractors have tried to point to the influx of talent blending and adapting as a cause of concern, to me this may prove to be fools gold. Lacking among the talent assembled by the FO is the boisterous self aggrandizement, rather there is a willfulness and commitment to excelling. While many may doubt for various reasons, to me the most significant trait of the talent pool assembled is character. It permeates among the FA's, the draft class, the UDFA's and veterans.
So when the leader of the team, not given to brash statements, states that he believes the are a playoff contender we need take it to heart and look closer at the roster being assembled. Remember the last time Eli Manning's opinion was questioned? How did that turn out? Human nature propels skepticism, a we need to see it to believe it mantra but I say before you start giving accolades to other rosters understand fully the one you support.
It will soon become obvious to all as the preseason evolves, that the New York Football Giants are now the beast in the east.
From what I've been reading its going to be a tie between the two teams with the division's best QBs. Apparently Romo and Cousins are going to be undefeated this season. Romo because, you know, he's healthy now that he took most of last season to recover from his broken, broken collar bone. His back is probably a lot better now too because, you know, backs tend to get better as you age. Cousins was basically unbeatable last year when facing sub .500 teams and we all know that the next step for any QB that can win 8 or 9 games is a move up to elite QB status the next year. The real question should be how far both of these proven playoffs warriors can carry their respective franchises.
This is wrong its Qb+DL+WR+CB. Eli was pretty damn good in 2011 and last year despite shoddy OL play. Our OL should be adequate in the WCO with the receivers we have.
I base this on the schedule and the fact our defense is much improved. I think the offense will be top 5 in the league and are troika at WR will be awesome.
the Giants, Redskins, and Cowboys. The only team I see lacking is the Eagles, especially on offense, but then who thought the Redskins would win he East before last season. The Cowboys have the most uncertainty, as Romo is not as durable as Eli and a young Cousins. If he stays healthy its any of those three's division. Its going to be a great season.
Hope the injury bug stays away...
No injuries

The Redskins are the defending champs. Their offense could be very good.
Dallas if healthy has a great offense that can score
Eagles...- well they suck
NYG on paper has talent. Can a new coach mesh it all together?
Ill get back to you on who will win the east in November

How's that for a non-answer

Thread is a summer place filler. One hopes we'll still be in it in November.
